Yummy Yummy Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Neptune Township

I'm really surprised by the low rating. This is my first time there and maybe my expectation was not as high.

I'd ordered through the "BeyondMenu," the process was simple and any custom ordering can be made through the website; there's even a choice of a free appetizer when you reach a certain amount in your order. This review is based on pickup, and not to eat-in. Your miles may vary depending on your expectation and timing.

The service was relatively slow, but there was a family there who had ordered a massive amount of food during the lunch buffet service (all custom-made dishes)...I mean a lot of food, all woks were on fire! The food tasted like it was from any other chinese food restaurant, which is a good thing. I've tasted pseudo-pan-asian dishes from other restaurants and it sometimes taste like old dishwater (in taste and texture), this was NOT the case with Yummy Yummy. We had two special meals, they got the order right and everyone was happy. The portions were large (for lunch), and we had plenty leftover for dinner. The place seemed to be family-run, there was a young man (assuming it was the son) who made sure everything was done properly.

In the past I've only gotten Wonton Soup to go from Yummy Yummy, after trying several other places nearby didn't measure up, and it was always perfect. Tonight I decided to order something different AND have it delivered. I was craving Roast Pork Lo Mein, Roast Pork Fried Rice and a Pork Egg Roll, so I went to their website from my cell. I didn't have to deal with downloading an app, ordering was a breeze! I gave specific instructions to call me when they arrived at my building so I could buzz them in, and gave them directions to my apartment. Since our landlords fired the Concierge a few years back, getting food delivered to our apartment door has been a nightmare and a near non-occurrence. I was called by the Yummy Yummy delivery person, I buzzed the front door to let them in, and they were literally at my apartment door around 25 minutes after I placed my order. The gentleman was VERY nice, the food was HOT, VERY generous portions and... DELICIOUS!! I highly recommend Yummy Yummy, if I could give 10...

I honestly have no idea why this place has such bad reviews on here... This is by the far the best takeout Chinese food I've ordered in my 36 years on earth. I'm more sensitive than most to filthy, old, stinky cooking oil, which is basically a side dish at most takeout Chinese food restaurants, but everything I ordered was fresh and hot and delicious and the rice was fluffy and it was just perfect. I may or may not have dreamed about it when I went to bed that night. Maybe it was a fluke and I just got a good batch, but the Grub Hub reviews would suggest otherwise.
