Five Guys — Restaurant in New Albany

New to the area, I was blessed to meet a wonderfully kind & helpful neighbor, Amanda. She knew I was an incredibly picky eater & shared she was an employee there & was also very selective eating out. She loved everything there! Explained how it was all fresh, no freezers, very clean, friendly staff & shared the most inspiring story of how Five Guys came to be! She said I must at least go try a milkshake. When my Partner took us for lunch the next day, I insisted there! We immediately loved the atmosphere and how immaculate. Although, Amanda wasn't working there that day, I still found all the staff so helpful & courteous! Best sandwiches, fries and strawberry chocolate shake with cool whip on top ever! Thank you Amanda for the best advice and since several of my friends and family have went there as they've came to visit and love it! Shame. Seems 5 Guys is on their down hill slide. Maybe that's why all the bragging signage hanging up in-store is from 2008. Nearly every table in the restaurant was dirty at roughly 730pm on a Saturday, no lines and lobby 1/4 full and an employee was outside washing the window sills (no, not the windows, the sills!!) The floors were dirty and full of trash. The men's room was not clean, garbage can full, sink was stained and would not drain properly. I saw no health code ratings posted. I wish I had seen a health rating posting, as I ignored the other red flags and ended up with severe food poisoning which onset within an hour of leaving the store. Everything in my body was evacuated over the next 8 hours. 1st time in the history of the world someone has lost weight from eating at 5 Guys. Five Guys is a great place to get burgers and fries if you don't mind paying a little more. This is the place to go if you want your burger dressed up though with almost unlimited toppings at no additional cost. I just qouldnt recomend going for a plain burger. The fries are amazing and have a bit of a peanut aftertaste (Probably fried peanut oil or something, im not sure)

The store itself is very clean, and they are more the heres a thing for fries and then fill half the paper bag up which is awesome, the more fries the better. Five guys is like the subway for burgers and its a great place to go every once in a while. They have no drive thrus and they make your order once you place it, so dont expect it to be instant. That being said it is quicker than just about any sit down restaurant with usually only about 5-8...
