Update: Pats has changed ownership. I had my first visit since the change. Following online, I knew they had made changes so I was curious and wanted to stop in after a busy day. I went towards the end of the day so it wasn't crowded and service was prompt and friendly The menu has been updated. Burgers are no longer something you order individually, but it comes with a side. I miss the old method as several patrons could share a side before, but change is to be expected. The burger tasted the same as before which made me happy. The onion rings seemed different than before. A thicker batter, possibly double dipped batter? Anyways, not quite the same light batter rings of the past, not enough of a change for me not to eat some, just heavier. Pats used to be my top budget friendly burger place, but I can't say that anymore. Pats is still a NB staple though that I will return to.
Pats is an New Braunfels Staple. We generally avoid during the summer months but we were celebrating the end of school. They happened to be short staffed today but all staff was stepping Up and doing anything needed to keep everything on par! The food was delicious as always. My son said the Mac n cheese is his favorite. The onion rings were lightly battered and not greasy at all. The hamburger...
Read moreIn short, the place is dingy and has bland food. The prices are ok though. If you want the server to listen to you and not just murmer something under his breath before he messes up your order by giving you way too much bland food, but only after making you wait 30 minutes for water, you should probably make sure that you are an attractive woman before coming here. My friend ordered a coke and the guy brought him out a can. Did i mention how bland the food is? It's like they got some kind of standard, cheap, bland batter mix, or frozen chicken strips. Either way, the chicken tenders are small, dry, and bland. They have the taste reminiscent of an over-microwaved microwave dinner. The fries seem to have come from a bag as well, probably labeled "home style fries" or something like that. Another friend had to ask for salt because they didn't put any on the fries in the kitchen, much less pepper them. She got the salt about 10 or 15 minutes later. I tried to give away my fries that i didn't order and couldn't even give them all away. After i tasted the onion rings that i tried to subsitute for the fries, i started giving those away too. I only ate 2 of the 3 chicken strips and had fries and onion rings left over. I didn't even consider getting...
Read moreMy husband, baby, and I went on Saturday at about 11ish. We were so excited to try this place as we’ve heard amazing things about it! Unfortunately that was not our experience. We went in pats place with very high hopes. As we arrived the hostess was super sweet and got us seated in about 10 min. Once we arrived to our spot( a very secluded area) we sat and were given menus. The tables behind us started to fill up and I saw the people that had gotten there after us begin to get drinks. Ok no big deal one time, it happens. Then it happened 3 more times. After that I was frustrated and began to be conscious of the time. It had been 15 min that we had sat there and no one came to greet us or get our drinks. Even when everyone around us had already gotten theirs. By that time I was over it. We left but before we left I spoke with the manager about it. I told him that I think it was the area we were seated in it’s very secluded but I also mentioned that the people around us had already been helped. He apologized and wanted to wait on us himself, but unfortunately my baby was over it and we couldn’t wait there any longer. I’m really wanting to give the benefit of the doubt here but it was such a letdown. Maybe in the future we...
