Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in New Haven

I have been a long-time customer of Tropical Smoothie in New Haven since its conception. I would often score points quickly because of my love for the Bahama Mama and Peanut Paradise smoothies. From time to time, I would have issues with my food order but didn’t make mention of it because they were minor. However, during the times of those issues, I would be a pick-up customer. During the pandemic and to date, I became a delivery customer and had the most issues with my food and smoothie quality. Most recently, I had two major issues with the food quality and timeliness of the order, in which I had to request refunds and potentially stop business at the establishment.

All that to say, I have never been met with such people who have shown integrity, care, and superb customer service as the owner-operator, Lenore, and the staff member, Equality. Lenore went above and beyond to ensure that I remained a loyal customer by calling me and offering me her trust/commitment to the company. Equality was very genuine and understanding. July 21 4:03pm I walked in and purchased two smoothies. On the door is a big poster stating buy 2 get one free everyday after 4 but staff did not offer my free one. Now that’s not my issue. My issues was that they choose to have conversations between them instead of getting my order out and she spilled the smoothie all over the sides of cup wiped down poorly and gave it to me at which point I asked for napkins and stood there cleaning my cup and she didn’t even apologize. This has been my spot for a while now but unfortunately management is doing a poor job at hiring and trading employees correctly and business will drop. Amazing. I love this place and am so glad I decided to check it out 2 months ago. Since I found it I go one to two times a week. The first time I went I tried something random and it was really good. The second time I asked for a recommendation for a smoothie with peanut butter and she recommended the Chia Banana with peanut butter and I haven't looked back since. I have gotten that same one probably 15 times now. ITS AMAZING!
