Well we had very high hopes for this restaurant we were very excited to get a reservation, because we're were going to finally try banana foster dessert. It's a beautiful restaurant loved the ambiance. The waitresses were fantastic and the bread is wonderful. But that's were the buck stops. We ordered a Cesar salad but it was way to heavy on the dressing the anchovy taste was overwhelming. We ordered the oysters broussard they were insipid and soggy. My husband ordered the turtle soup he said it was ok. I did not try it. I ordered the veal with jumbo lump crab. My plate was luke warm when it arrived and it was not seasoned. I put some salt on it and it was ok at best. The lump crab as cold I though that they would maybe heat it up with the sauce but it was not left in the sauce enough time to warm up. It was not very good quality because it was full of little pieces of shell. My husband ordered the duck breast medium, it was over cooked. And the brussel sprouts were grossly salty and burned. The waitress was very nice she took the plate back to the kitchen, when they brought it back it was raw and the brussel sprouts were still burned. We were so dispapointed we just paid and left. The hole point of going to this restaurant was because we really really wanted to try banana foster. But we were so dispapointed we were afraid it would be awful too. Again the hostess and waitresses were fantastic. It's the kitchen that was awful.

Beautiful restaurant and fantastic experience! I went there for brunch and who doesn’t love all you can drink mimosas?! You buy an entree between $16-$30 is the price range and spend another $12 for the all you can drink. The food was absolutely delicious. I wish I saved a picture of the espresso cake because it was to die for! The server originally told us the “most popular” desserts, but when I asked her about the espresso cake, her face lit up, and I knew we had to try it! They even hand make the cream on top with espresso. We wanted extra cream because it was just so good but the kitchen only makes it when the order is being prepared. The restaurant also had a band come around and play a song for all the tables. It was wonderful! This next part is not a negative comment but more of a recommendation. My date’s entree (the one farther away) was smaller than he anticipated and cost $26. I feel like for someone my size it would’ve been fine, but he’s a grown man, so he definitely needed more food. However, we understand poached eggs take a lot of attention and work to be made correctly (and they were amazing). My suggestion would be to maybe add an inexpensive side, like the potatoes I received, and adjust the price a little. Everything was fantastic - from the food to service ! Highly recommend. Wish I could remember my servers names. The two girls were great! One was a taller blonde with glasses and the other was originally from NY.

I am here for the Southern Decadence event and my friends and I decided to make a reservation here. Some arrived later than others but by no longer than 20 minutes. Party of 14. The earliest arrived at 1130am. The service was poor, although I can respect their efforts due to the large volume of people in the entire restaurant. Drinks came late but the bottomless mimosas were very good. It had been over half an hour after drinks until we received our menus. And when we ordered it was not until an hour and a half had passed when it was recieved and was not all delivered together. The food was delivered lukewarm and lackluster. Due to the absence of heat it took away from a what would might have been a flavorful experience. The presentation was not what I expected for my first 5 star restaurant. Raspberry sauce smears on the plate clearly visible. I have been let down I am sad to say. I still would not give this place 1 star. It has its charms and the band was very talented. Perhaps if I decide to come back in future events Borussard's can show me a better second impression. Edit: Alisha, the assumed manager, had apologized for the service and seems to be willing to learn from this encounter. She compensated for the errors provided today fairly. Next year I will give this place another shot. Until then this review stands.

We had made a reservation for 8pm on December 31, 2024 new year's eve. Upon our arrival the host( whomever was working that night at that time) had to be reminded that we had a reservation. We were a party of ten which we understand it takes time for a party so large to seat. But after 35 minutes and asking the host when will we be seated he arrogantly said to the personin our party that made the reservation " you do realize we are fitting you in" i didn't hear him because my response would be me leaving. Well 40 minutes after arriving we are finally seated. The waiter comes out and takes our orders because we are all hungry by now. As my party ask for descriptions of the plate in question, he exaggerated the serving sizes as well as the contents of the meal. This is around 8:50. At exactly 10:30 our meal finally came. It was cold, it was tiny and it was flavorless. The person in our party called for the manager and when she finally came, she didn't introduce herself she just stood on the wall looking at our table as if she was a wall ornament. Finally someone asked her are you the manager she said yes. We voiced our concerns as to why this wasn't acceptable and all she said was that the kitchen was closing. I know, there was no solution, no sympathy, no type of service recovery. We paid our bill, which thinking back we probably shouldn't have paid the full bill which came to over $600 but we split it between 2 parties. This place is over priced, overrated, and minimal quality. Going around the table, My dish was the chicken, it was a chicken thigh cut into 4 pieces then wrapped up and place on a cold green sauce. My daughter had a the gulf fish with a hard dry brown sauce. It must have been sitting up for a long time in the back. 2 others had the chicken thing I had and hated it. My wife had a salad and choose not to order a main meal because the waiter said my meal would be enough for me to share with her. Once that miserable amount of food was places before me with dried carrots, she chose not to order a meal. My other daughter and 2 others picked the scallops, which we good but not worth the money. I've been to restaurants in Gulfport with better tasting food, better quality and better prices. The drinks were not pleasant nor made with any type of skill or balance. The only meal that was of some satisfaction was my son's pork chop diner. He said it was cooked well , still hot and the size was something a grown man would prefer. The rest of our meals were made for toddlers. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The locals that keep this place alive are lying to themselves. They believe it's fine dining because the restaurant says they are. It's a place where they take one chicken and spread it out to serve 10 people and charge 30 bucks for a snack. You do yourself a favor and go to Mambo's. Better food. Better people. Better portions. Mombo's is wotlrth the price, plus you get the entire part of the meat you order and it comes out hot. We also ordered the oysters from here, they were fried and gross, where Mombo's had great flavor with butter cream cheese sauce that's amazing. All in all this place sucks! Don't go. Save your money, and let the snobs have it. It's not good food at all. I've had food from the state fair and street venders that were better and I hate both. This place couldn't beg me to come back even if they paid for our meal. Gordon Ramsay needs to step in and help the chef, the manager, the owner, and the other help. It should never take 2 hours to receive your food. Those people coming to New orleans to visit, as we did, stay away from this place. Spend you money elsewhere. Run away. Go...

Girlfriends and I went this weekend for the Mardi Gras festivities and wanted to enjoy the jazz brunch. Reservation for 5 was for 2pm and we got there at 1:42pm and were seated by 1:50pm. We put in our order for 2 appetizers and the prix fixe menu shortly thereafter. A table of 8 was seated shortly thereafter and ordered a good 10-15 minutes after us. While the 2 small appetizers came out about 20 minutes later, we sat until 315pm and still had no entrees.

Needless to say, we were pretty upset. The table of 8 seated after us and ordered after we did had already received and FINISHED their entrees (with their tables being cleared) and meanwhile we were still waiting.

What made the matter worse was the lack of attentiveness to our table. No one was coming to fill our waters, or give us updates or ask to refill cocktails. We'd have to flag people down and even then it looked they had an attitude.

We were seated outside with "3 dedicated servers"...there were only 3 occupied tables and inside was pretty empty as well. There was no dedicated service. We held out as long as possible and asked to speak with a manager. To say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree would be an understatement. This guy gave two sh*ts. He buzzed in and out of our table in literally less than 5 seconds saying "your food is coming" and we couldn't even get a word out. We were all like "is that it"?

We eventually flagged down another manager (African American gentleman) who actually acted like he cared (don't know the other manager, a Caucasian gentleman) and he promised to comp our entrees. We were at the point where we didn't care and just wanted our bill so we could leave. The food came out probably about 15 minutes after we started making a fuss (it's around 3:30pm at this point) and to say this flavorless, COLD, meal was worth the wait would be a lie. I ordered the short rib which the waiter described as having "meat that falls off the bone." It was literally a hard block of fat. You could use it as a hammer. It was the weirdest short rib I've seen. I got a burnt, cold fried egg on the side. Everyone else's meal was the same disappointment.

We just got up and went to settle the bill. When I went to cash out by the kitchen, it was clear this was where all the servers were hanging out and gabbing instead of servicing tables. To add insult to injury, there was a Roach crawling up the wall in front of me and it went and hid under a painting (again, this is right NEXT to the kitchen). I flagged down the second manager we worked with, lifted up to painting to show him the Roach and he was just like "oh" and walked away. No attempt to kill it or anything. It was a German Roach not a waterbug. Which means their kitchen must be OVERRUN with them 🤮.

The only reason why I'm giving the atmosphere top rating is because the jazz trio that walks around from table to table was enjoyable. So keep that in mind, you will not be listening to jazz during the entire duration of your meal, they will only come by and you will only listen to 1-2 songs before they move on. Not much of a...

So I normally do not write reviews positive or negative. But, I was in town for a wedding this past Memorial Day weekend. One two (2) separate occasions I want to document my experience. First one morning I wanted to drop in for brunch. I was greeted by a hostess who asked if I had a reservation which I did not now keep in mind they were just opening and the restaurant was empty. They hostess said let me finish my work and I will see if we are taking walk-ins in. Keep in mind she was not friendly at all and was more interested in finishing whatever work she had. She then came back and said sorry it will be an hour wait. I left went to another place that sat us down immediately.

My second experience was the next night we were seated for dinner. We looked over the menu and decided we were all going to get apps. Now we did order drinks. I think annoyed the waiter. As we tried to order he indicated they were out of crab cakes so we ordered something else. Then another person in my party ordered another app again they were out of that. So we place our orders. The service dropped off like a cliff after we just ordered apps. The waiter was annoyed. The food was okay. Next thing I know a couple came in sat down they ordered. I see magically a crab cake was served. I confronted the manager on duty they said it was just a miscommunication. Sure because I saw another order of crab cakes being delivered.

The manager came over and apologized but she did not make or any accommodation on the bill charged me full price for everything. I’ve worked in service industry and I know you make an adjustment when there are issues. Nope nothing! I still tipped the wait staff not much but still tipped.

With so many options in NOLA avoid this place at all costs. I will never ever go there ever again. And I strongly recommend staying away. If they lose business well so be it. Maybe they will learn to treat...
