I rarely write reviews but I have to express my disappointment regarding an extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable experience. Upon arrival, our party of twelve was informed by the hostess that we needed to be fully present before being seated, which we understood. Once all members from the bar closed out we gathered at the desk to inform them all were present. Another hostess interjected stating we missing two people. We explained they were in the restroom, she rudely instructed the younger hostess to “MAKE SURE TO COUNT THE TWO WHEN THEY COME OUT OF THE RESTROOM.” Her accusatory tone was unnecessary and unprofessional. Even after we were seated, she approached our table to count again. At this point, her behavior was excessive and unwarranted, particularly as it was a Sunday evening at 7:30 PM, the restaurant had ample open tables, and there was no line of waiting guests.
Feeling uncomfortable with her behavior, I approached the hostess stand to read her name tag. As I was doing so, she walked over to our table and, in an aggressive tone, asked if I needed something. When I responded that I was simply reading her name, she threw up her hand dismissively and walked away. She did not offer assistance or attempt to address our concerns, making it clear that her approach was not about service but about confrontation.
Despite this, we decided to continue our meal and address our concerns with the manager afterward. Our server, Dylan, provided excellent service, and the food was great. However, when we spoke to the manager, Jalesa Jones, our complaint was met with indifference. I detailed the repeated and unnecessary harassment from the hostess, as well as her final hostile gesture to our group. Rather than acknowledging the issue, the assistant manager stated they would “CHECK THE CAMERAS” to verify what had happened. This response only added to our frustration, as it felt dismissive and invalidating.
The unprofessionalism displayed by both the hostess and the manager left us feeling unwelcome and, quite frankly, discriminated against. I have never experienced such blatant rudeness and hostility in a hospitality setting.
I felt it was important to bring this to your attention, as no guest should be made to feel uncomfortable or disrespected. I hope Drago’s will take the necessary steps to ensure a more professional and welcoming environment for all...
Read moreMe, my boyfriend and my brother (that Lives in New Orleans) decided to eat at Drago's this Friday. It was the absolute worst experience EVER... We all ordered a Moscow Mule with 1 shot of Vodka. The waitress asked what type of Vodka. I said well is fine. It's a mixed drink, you can't hardly tell... 1 dozen oysters, 1 dozen chard - all was good. We ordered the Mac Daddy Trio, which they were out of Lobster so we ordered the Filet Mignon special, which came with Mashed Pototoes, I asked if they could swap the Mashed Pototoes for Mac & Cheese and she said yes. My brother asked for the same. Later my brother order a Brownie a La Mode, which she said she couldn't do since they were out of Ice Cream. When we get our ticket, she charged us not only for an extra drink (I had 2, my brother had 2 and my boyfriend had 1). I counted the glasses on the table out loud to her, with no response. I asked why Ketel One, it's suppose to be well. She stated that was their well. I asked why the shots were the same price as the drinks and she said that what they charge. We all asked why we were charged $10 for swapping Mashed Potatoes for Mac & Cheese and she stated that how they process it. We asked for a manager, which only made matters worse. She tried to take my brothers Cheesecake that was packaged to go and he asked her why she was taking that, it's already been paid for. The Manager threw the boxed up cheesecake at him. The next day my boyfriend and I walked back over, asked for a shot of Vodka and the ticket was not for Ketel One nor was it $15.00. This place is obviously a hustle being done by the employees. This is why many really good restaurants go out of business. I'm sure once they closed out that night our ticket did not say Kettle one (10) nor the $10 more for Mac & Cheese... I have never been in a restaurant that thinks its fine for a manager to throw food or that can't count the number of glasses on a table and correct the number... If you eat here....asked after you put in each item for them to print your ticket so you will know what you are going charged... They also have a water leak that they don't seem to...
Read moreVisited while preparing for a cruise. This was after a long drive from Tulsa. I'm tired, but will try to be objective in this review.
The restaurant is convient if you're staying at the Hilton, which we were. However, the hotel also has some convention / banquet stuff so you contend with a lot of consumers.
This isn't cheap dining. A bowl of gumbo is ~$11 and steak meals can quickly rise to $42 or more. To me, this isn't cheap dinning. If I'm going to buy wine and a steak I don't expect to sit next to an obnoxious family with a bratty kid snapping a plate up and down while the mom stares in space like a meth addict.
As for other groups, not the place to take groups of preteen kids. Try room service or burger King.
Parents and chaperones, be cognizant of others before you pick the place to eat. No place is going to turn you away so you have to use your brain to figure things out.
Now for the place. We were seated quickly (2 of us). The place was clean and nice. The menu options were diverse but not so hot for people with special diets. Many things have dairy. Maybe substitutions could be made, I'm not sure.
The food was really good. I had gumbo and was happy with it. The serving size is a bowl but it come in a shallow plate style bowl. The amount is fair but not generous. I could buy 25 dollars worth of ingredients and make a pot of it. My wife was satisfied with her shrimp pasta. Per the industry norm she was served 2 to 3 cups of angel hair pasta which is 1 or 2 cups more that a serving size should he. Anyways, she just push some aside.
The service was lack luster. After being seated it took a bit to see the waiter. After we got drinks and place the order (simple) we got our mean quickly. When we done it took longer to get the check then to eat. That was tough since we were eager to go back to our room. The irritating bit was watching our server help haul a cart of dishes across the room. Seems like any other staff person would be better suited for that task. Anyone but the people serving the customers.
I give this a thumbs up but it could be improved on...
