👍🏽👍🏽 Got there at a perfect time on a Friday about 11 am.( by time we left a line was formed down the street) Small place with about 10 small tables . Kindly greeted by the counter guy as we stepped in. Menu was easy to read and offered a mix bag of meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. We did the pork belly po boy and the fried shrimp 🍤 but I’m going back for the vegetarian ones before I leave ! Poboys were good size. Pork belly was proclaimed to be absolutely delish. Bread is the perfect consistency of chewy and crisp and did not get soggy. Shrimp poboy was seared and lightly dressed with pickled veg blend and lightly dressed with a Mayo/ light aioli. It was perfect. Had a side cup of veg collard greens Slightly sweet and perfect amount of spice. Crystal Hotsauce was the preferred choice. Washed it down with a coke Did not see if there was beer available or not… but it’s the French Quarter, plenty of that. I believe the owner was there directing traffic, running the food and making sure everyone got the table that fit their parties. Highly recommend!! * vegan,...
Read more4.75 (Google doesn't do partial stars) Definitely different than everywhere else doing Po'boys in the Quarter. Like a fusion with a banh mi. The blackened shrimp were a refreshingly delicious (and maybe even healthier?) take on the ubiquitous fried everyone else and his ma makes. The carrots added crunch and more importantly vegetables 😉... a food group that is drastically neglected in most joints other than the lettuce and tomatoes on your sandwich. Speaking of veggies, I felt like maybe after 3 days of eating nothing but butter, fried seafood, fried dough, french fries and rice I might have been getting scurvy, so I ordered the collard greens here. But I found to my extreme disliking, they add sugar or some kind of sweetener to the greens... and this was the only reason why I didn't give Killer PoBoys the full 5 stars -- I know you're doing your own spin, but please for the love of God, there is absolutely NO reason to ever sweeten greens -- not greens as anyone with southern roots would understand them to be...
Read moreWe came as a group of 5 and left with mixed reviews. Personally, I would definitely come back!
Food: We loved the seared gulf shrimp, pork belly, and the Thai BBQ tofu, but our friends that got the BBQ chicken confit were a bit disappointed. To start, the seared shrimp was super plump and juicy and enough reason for me to come back. The pork belly was delicious, but it was really lacking something to balance the sweetness to make it the perfect bite. My vegetarian friend was very happy with her Thai bbq tofu. Unfortunately, according to my friend who ordered the bbq chicken confit the cabbage slaw was overwhelming vinegary which really soaked into the bread and then the chicken itself was rather sparse and dry.
Service/Atmoshere:We left with mixed reviews but were unified in that the bread was heavenly and the casual vibe was...
