When I first visited this café, I loved the vibe — it’s set up in a converted garage, modern design, stylish, full of people and soft modern music in the background. I ordered a cappuccino and a croissant. The cappuccino was nice, the croissant… well, I expected it to be fluffier and fresher. So I left a 4-star review, thinking that’s fair. But then something unexpected happened. The owner herself read my review and came over to talk — not to argue, but to listen. She explained that the croissants are actually baked daily, but their texture is a bit denser than I might have expected — that’s just the style they offer. That short exchange changed everything for me. It takes courage to approach a customer with openness, and that shows real respect and passion. I realized that in this café, they truly care about what they do and how people experience it. That’s rare. So I’m changing my review to 5 stars — not because the croissant magically changed, but because they did something more important: they showed heart. It’s a great place to hang out or even work (yes, there are outlets). And the people running it? The kind of people who listen. The crêpes here are absolutely delicious! I ordered them with sweetened condensed milk — they were soft, warm, and just melted in my mouth. A perfect treat for anyone with a sweet tooth. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Who knew how difficult it would be to keep saying wonderful things about Ironworks? At first I kept the place a secret since I did not want too many other people to keep showing up. While it is not a very large place, they do serve quickly and you can do takeout. I have been fortunate to eat there in person so my food is hot and fresh. They have savory crêpes as well as sweet crêpes. Coffees as well for those who want them. They have some other snacks like croissant and muffins and i think oatmeal. In less than one week, I have already been twice for savory crêpes and once for a sweet crêpe. The only photos I have are for sweet crêpes since I’ve eaten my savory ones too quickly. I anticipate being back again tomorrow for breakfast again. I am already looking up and researching crêpe recipes and if I’m lucky I can convince them to share theirs with me so I can make these at home for others that have had these with me and want more. They will know you by name and remember you. Now that I have been several times, and my week is wrapping up, I have begun to share this location with others, making sure to remind them that if we both show up at the same time, I am first in line. I hope you check them out. It is worth the wait for a fresh crêpe.

A range of crepes and classic coffee shop drink options. Ironworks fits nicely into the business district breakfast circuit, with a plethora of sweet and savoury pancake options. I had a caramel and apple pancake which was pleasant, and my friend had a savoury one. We shared the opinion that these were both nice, but nothing exceptional. You know what you’re getting, and won’t be disappointed, but I would not travel far and wide. The lady who served us was very nice and friendly, after some slight misunderstanding arising from my misreading of the menu. I was pleased to see an in-situ plug socket which solved a debate I’d been having in my head the previous day as to what ports were available on an identical socket in a less visible location Some strange ethics by patrons in here, whereby on entry they would put their bags down before people ahead of them in the queue, thus reserving the remaining tables despite people before them in the queue. Luckily (for them) some people left just before we sat down so I did not need to throw their bags onto the pavement outside. Would come back for the chance to start a fight with the silly regulars who think they own the place.

What can I say about this place??? It's a hidden gem, built in the garage that was used to film the 1st Expendables movie! If you take a trip to the restroom, which is in the main building you can still see the preserved are work from the movie, which is signed by Stalone and Rourke. The atmosphere is chic, cool lounge music that is not annoyingly loud (conversation is easily understood), and all their food has a refined taste despite the price not being ridiculous considering it is in the heard of the business district. The crepes are some of the best I have had, and I am a conosure! The coffee is top notch, they use a good brand of esspresso if that is your thing, it pairs perfectly with the quality of crepes they serve. The orange juice is some of the best I habe ever had, sometimes i pass while working just with the goal of getting fresh unadulterated orange juice to kick my day off...its far better a boost than starting with only coffee. The owner and employees are all beautiful people, who always greet you with a wonderful smile, an interesting story, and have a way of making you feel at home. On cool days they open the garage, which makes it feel like an outdoor Cafe, and you get an opportunity to people watch as they pass. Check out my pics and I am sure you will see the kitchen is top notch clean with an ultra expensive esspreso machine that churns out the best pull of coffee on this side...
