A Sweet Treat for the Summer Heat Part 1 Read Time 1-3 mins I decided to drive over to the New Orleans’s Famous Pandora’s and to my surprise I was pleasantly pleased. I needed a cool sugar boost after my City Park workout and boy did this not disappoint. I arrived to a strategically placed corner spot building with on street parking. It was so easy to spot and the long line was a dead giveaway that these snowballs had to be delicious.
I quickly found a street park and got in line. The line moved expeditiously and I was greeted with a warm smile to take my order when it was time. I’m a fan of watermelon as a summer treat so I choose watermelon and lime for a cool refreshing sweet treat. The price was a little bit more than usual for a snowball but hey quality and location tends to up the price in any situation.
Now to the main attraction the snowball. First let me start by saying. WOW! I took an immediate sip and had to close my eyes to savor the moment. The syrup was sweet but not too sweet and it was more than enough to cover the ice. After that first sip I had to take a spoonful of snowball and the ice melted in my mouth to my satisfaction. I love Pandora’s and can’t wait to try other flavors and maybe even an ice cream. All I can say is cheers to you and as I sip on the last bits of my soft sweet snowball.

Read moreWhat IS a snowball?? Is it, as the locals adamantly declare, NOT a snow cone? This is the question.
Upon review of the snowball experience, I submit to the world that that a snowball is in fact a child of the snow cone family. Not a cousin of the snow cone (snow cone adjacent) but in fact lives clearly within the immediate family of the snow cone, if perhaps as a rebellious young teen questioning their identity.
A cup of shaved ice with flavored syrup poured over top is a snow cone whether it is made in NOLA or New York.
The snowball does in fact have some unique distinguishing features. Most obviously, the condensed milk drizzled on top (which does add a lovely touch of creamy sweetness!). Also it is claimed that the snowball consists of a finer, softer kind of ice than the snow cone, though those claims must only hold true for particularly course snow cones, for I found the consistency to be consistent with my general experience of snow cones across the board.
This place I appreciate for its reasonable prices and food including chili and hot dogs! I would recommend to tourists to also walk down the street to see the shops and coffeehouses...
Read moreTwo things: the snowballs here are pretty good. The ice is very fluffy. HOWEVER. the unreliable hours and some of the rude staff members ruin it. Do not rely on this place being open when they say they are. I can't tell you how many times I've visited because the hours say they are open and they aren't. Also, they close 15 minutes earlier than the advertised time. I will be back here for the convenience of this place being close to my house will NEVER be tipping their workers again :)
Update in response to their response: I would understand turning people away at 7pm as advertised. I was turned away at 6:45 PM which is before 7 PM. Hopefully you correct this problem with your staff for future patrons and actually close the line on time instead of 15 minutes before :)
Or at 6:30 you can just start sending your customers away to Sal’s because that’s basically what you’re doing now
Fact: cursing out your employee did not happen, Maybe next time, your staff can have some sympathy for a 30 week pregnant woman instead of being extremely rude.
All I was saying is I hope you honor your business hours for the...
