Our family stayed at Holiday Inn French Quarter-Chateau Lemoyne and were given a $15 voucher to Twisted Waffle. We went in knowing it was an overpriced tourist place, but it's connected to the hotel and convenient. We initially tried to eat there the night we checked in, but they closed earlier than the hours posted on google. We ended up eating breakfast there the next morning. While the atmosphere is nice and the food was tasty, we were displeased with the service. There were only 4 seated tables, so they were not overly busy and it took an incredibly long time to get our food. We literally saw our server 3 times. She took our order, delivered our food, and brought an electronic device for us to check out on. Someone else brought our drinks and my daughter never even received the cranberry juice she ordered. We were not given an itemized bill and the device to pay was left at our table already pulled up to card payment, however the price did not seem correct and I thought maybe the server had forgotten to apply our voucher. I was shocked to see a $15 "fee" added. I flagged a server and questioned the "fee" and I was told it was taxes and tip. I pointed out that taxes were itemized on another line. She then said it's the gratuity because people weren't tipping them. So gratuity is included, fine. I proceed back to pay and the electronic device prompted me to tip again. So these folks aren't telling you they're adding gratuity then requesting it after it's already added. They're double dipping. I did not leave extra since they were already charging (I think it was 20%). Good tips come from good service. My husband and I have both worked in food service and we tip well, however we absolutely will not tip more than 20 percent for subpar service. If they aren't getting tips it's because the service like we received is poor. Due to dishonest practices like this, I would not recommend Twisted Waffle. The food was good, but it's wasn’t worth what we ended up paying (almost $70 for two adults...

We were told the wait time was 25 minutes but we weren’t called to our table until 40 minutes had passed. We were served quickly but the food took around an hour to arrive and definitely wasn’t worth the wait. It was mediocre at best and certainly not worth the price but we would have let this all slide and not bothered to leave a negative review if we hadn’t had an issue with paying our bill. The restaurant card reader was down and we did not have sufficient cash to cover the fifty-four dollar bill. The waitress said we could go to the ATM across the street, but as tourists visiting from abroad our bank cards don’t work in US machines. The waitress disappeared for twenty minutes, gave us no updates but left us sat waiting at the table. We had been at the restaurant for over an hour and a half at this point. When the waitress finally returned she asked how much cash we had ($39) and said that the manager would accept this. We explained that this was all the cash we had for the entire trip and needed to pay on card. We then spoke to the manager who was rude and said there was nothing she could do, said that it wasn’t her problem that the card machine wasn’t working. I said that we wouldn’t have sat down if we knew we couldn’t pay card and she again said not her problem. In the end we had to just hand over all our cash which has proven problematic for the remainder of our trip in NO. Again, this would have been forgiven if the service had been apologetic and kind, but nothing but hostility was shown in this situation and all blame was placed on us. We do not recommend this restaurant: long wait times, mediocre food, high prices and bad service that is certainly not worth the 18%...

We walked in (3 of us) and were told the wait was going to be 40 minutes, and we said okay and went to go have a seat! After we waited about 45-50 minutes we just went to go check on things because even the ONE party (it was a party of 2) who arrived before us hadn't been seated. She then said it'll be another 20 minutes and took the other party at that moment. That was fine because they were there before us. HOWEVER, during our 40 minute wait, about 4 other parties arrived, THEN a party of TEN (10) arrived AFTER them. While we were waiting THEY TOOK THE PARTY OF TEN BEFORE ALL OF US! We said something and she was like oh, I'm sorry. So the other parties that had been waiting, we all wanted to know about the wait time now that a party of 10 had been taken ahead of us. She said, they were here, to which we responded, no they weren't because we all watched them walk in. She said okay, we'll get you seated shortly. When she left we looked at the paper and sure enough their name was down the list and they had crossed it out and again, TOOK THEM BEFORE ALL OF US. We waited about another 5 minutes, got seated, and noticed that one of the girls who seated them knew them. She hugged a few of them, and was over there talking and laughing, etc. That was very unprofessional...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!! Especially when we pay for food just like everybody else and had already been waiting so long!

On the flip side, Kayla was amazing. She was very, very nice! Took our order, told us what she recommended, and provided exceptional service! THIS is why it's getting three stars! It was going to be a ONE, but Kayla was so awesome that she turned the experience around a little bit! Thank...

Not being from around here and stuck in a hotel room all day sick, intrigued by the menu, I wanted to try a bit of everything and have leftovers for my next meals the rest of the day. I ordered chicken and waffles with ranch kickin dip, delicious! I’d order that again. Pistachios waffle w/o whip cream, delicious but too sweet for me. My husband would order that again in a heartbeat. Waffled cheddar garlic biscuits, the size caught me off guard, I thought they’d be bigger. They tasted fine, nothing to write home about. Side of seasoned potatoes, don’t bother. Creamy grits with American cheese, I could make this at home and probably have more flavor. My biggest issue is with my final dish, Caramel apple waffle. That should never have left the kitchen. Serving literal burnt food is never ok. The apples were literally burnt with burnt sludge oozing on waffle. The gram cracker crumbs are a joke and basically nonexistent. The rest of this is going in the garbage. Unfortunately I ordered it by delivery so I was unable to send anything back to the kitchen. Would I recommend this place based on this experience, sadly, no. Overall, not a great experience.
