Located on the corner of Broad St. and Pearl St. in the Financial District, lower Manhattan. We were walking around town looking for a place to have dinner this Friday night, but besides bars, we didn't find anything open to sit down. We stopped at this 100 Marketplace as they sell prepared food. I wanted a burger, but they were not offering that at the grill during my visit, so I put together a plate of their hot food items (buffet style). The food was extremely hard and well, not fresh at all. It was very hard to chew. However, had good taste, and I was happy to have found hot food. The cost is $15/lb, so it will add up fast depending on what you select. I guess I couldn't expect better food quality at a market. I also grabbed a cheesecake, and now that was very delicious and satisfying. They had a few tables to sit down and eat your meal.

This restaurant is a scam… Those workers are using a scale to say 4 meals from the buffet is $15 per pound. our total came out to $95 dollars, which makes no sense considering 5 pound weights weigh WAYY more than those four meals. I feel like the machine where they weigh the food is altered and makes the food weigh more. On top of ALL that, the food tasted so bad it was at-least a day or more old (look at the photo of the calamari being stretched it shouldn’t look like that) everything by was soggy and i would NEVER eat here again, why wouldn’t you just weigh the meals one by one?? To anybody who sees nice reviews about this place is is considering coming, DONT.

100 Market Place is in the wedge of an intersection. The sign is big and bold, you can not miss it. It drew in our curiosity, my love, and I. It's an area of buffet eats. I have not always been one to go to a buffet because in my experience, the buffet is a mess, or the environment is not clean, so I end up walking out and never return. So, this was the first in many years. The kitchen stations, buffets, buildings, and floors were sparkling. The food was really good. No, I mean really good. I remembered I had some juice after it was gone. We enjoyed what we ate!

This place is very convenient for anyone in the area to get food at anytime of the day. During like 8pm-8am the food is limited from what I've seen. But they do keep half the buffet open for people to get food. As for the buffet plates, they cost roughly $15-20 for lb of food from what I saw. They also don't list any prices for half the food inside the store, so be careful with what you pick as everything in there is expensive.

The food looked appetizing when I came in at the buffet. However, I would stay from the Macaroni, Potato wedges, mashed potatoes because they have no seasoning, or might not be cooked all the way as for the case of the potato wedge I ate raw. Some of the brown rice was also uncooked when I took a bite. I felt the rice crush in my mouth. The noodles is very good with shrimp or without shrimp.

They offer hot soup of different kinds further back and have a selection of juices, water, milk in the back.

One of the employees when I went at night was kinda rude because I asked a question. But the other at the register in the front was very nice and was Asian from the looks of it.

UPDATE Went back for the breakfast buffet, the experience wasn't so much great. No breakfast was being served, and instead, it was lunch/dinner food. What was really disappointing was finding hair in 2 different meals. The first hair was in the grilled chicken and the other hair that was found was in there chow mein noodles. We didn't even bother going to complain because it would fall on deaf ears. Also had a BLT and it was okay, I would recommend there sandwiches over anything else. The BLT I had was stuffed with alot of lettuce and only 3 pieces of bacon and 2 slices...

So what happened to me happened more than once. Every time i go there im met with racism. Rudeness and dismissal. The night deli guy acts racist. He constantly dismisses me like im not standing there trying to get an order. I have to ask more ghan five times before he even moves. Will take other people who dont look like me before me even though i been there before them. Has a stink attitude always. Then I tried to reach out to the manager and he was tude and dismissive. He tried to offer me a sandwich as compensation. I don’t want no damn sandwich i want an apology from that guy behind the counter and not a manager. Then i told him go look at his cameras. And he said his cameras doesn’t record past 24 hours there is no way to tell if im telling the truth. 🤦🏿‍♂️ he is trying to protect the guy. I need the owners to reavh out to me. The disrespect is outrageous. The manager should not have to apologize for rude worker. This is ghe fourth time this has happened. I let it go the last three times. But something has to give because it will kepp going on. Tom you were very disrespectful, condescending and flat out wrong. Kike im a charity case offering me a sandwich for compensation is crazy. And try to tell me stay away from the deli deal with the cashier. No deal...

DO NOT SUPPORT! Discriminatory and Unacceptable Behavior! NOT POC FRIENDLY!

I’m deeply disappointed and disturbed by the treatment my friends and I received at this market. As three Black Muslim women, we were denied entry by a middle-aged Asian male cashier, even though the store is advertised as being open 24 hours. He looked at us and refused to open the door without any explanation.

Just a few minutes later, two men approached the store, and the cashier immediately put on his mask and let them in. It wasn’t until those two random strangers vouched for us that we were finally allowed inside.

We calmly addressed the issue, only to be told by the cashier that he didn’t open the door “for his safety.” He then falsely insinuated that we might have been drunk. When I pointed out that he let a white couples in without hesitation, he dismissively asked, “What are you trying to say?” He showed no accountability or remorse for how he treated us.

If it weren’t for those two random strangers, we would have been denied access to this marketplace simply because of how we looked. This experience was hurtful, discriminatory, and unacceptable. No one should be made to feel like a threat because of their race, religion,...
