I've been a member for 6-months and I would definitely recommend CrossFit Wall Street.
First, this location is on the small size which means class size is limited to 8 people. Even with limited spots in the class, I've never had a problem getting into the lunch classes. They average 4-8 people most days, and I find you won't have a problem getting in as long as you register at least an hour or two in advance. I've only seen someone turned away a few times and that was for dropping in right at 12 to see if there was a spot open.
For new people to CrossFit the location size is a big advantage since you get more attention from the coaches. I started at a box that averaged 10-20 members per class and more attention starting out would have been helpful like at CF Wall Street. And for experienced CrossFitters it means the coaches time isn't consumed by new members either since the total class size is more manageable. Smaller class sizes also means there is no hiding during the workout. The coaches will push you and the other members will encourage you. Remember if you're going 4x a week, you're spending 4 hours each week with the coach and many of the other members. You get to know them well. It's a friendly crowd and everyone is down to earth regardless of what level you're at.
For those new to CrossFit, don't expect your standard boring gym workuot...legs on Sunday, back on Tuesday, blah blah blah. The workouts are constantly varied and can be intense. Some you'll be good at and some you'll be absolutely terrible at. But that's what makes it fun is seeing progress over the weeks. And everything is tracked so you can see how you are progressing as you go through cycles.
The one downside to this location is you can't drop weights which can make it challenging when you're at the end of a cycle and it's time to test your one rep max, or if you're trying to go heavy on the workout of the day. But the coaches will work with you to find an appropriate weight to challenge yourself, make sure you have spotters for one rep max, etc. without shaking the...

Read moreAs a self proclaimed cardio junkie & yoga enthusiast, I was a little hesitant to try crossfit. After dealing with quite a few injuries while training for a race last October, my husband convinced me to give it a try. Thank goodness I did - specifically at Crossfit Wall St. Not only do I love the workouts, but the coaches are incredible and both my husband and I have met so many supportive and equally competitive friends!
I should also mention, 2 months after becoming a member, we found out I was pregnant with our first baby. I was able to continue crossfit throughout my entire pregnancy with my last class being the night before I went into labor. The coaches were amazing at helping me scale workouts, while also keeping me excited, challenged and building strength. With all those scaled weighted pull-ups I had my eyes on post pregnancy unassisted pull-ups (which happened!). My ability to rebound after giving birth was 100% due to the approach we took throughout my entire pregnancy. I can’t express enough my gratitude for the support of the coaches and friends/members at crossfit Wall Street, they really have become like family.
I’m currently 5 month’s post pregnancy and able to run race quality pace pain free w/o having really run much at all. That’s the beauty of crossfit!
Obviously, I HIGHLY recommend Crossfit Wall St. If you’re considering dropping in for a class, or signing up for a membership - DO IT, you...
