Ok since I’m a roll for Queens Pizza reviews I grew up eating albas back in the 90s I met and knew Alba Jack Peter etc etc
This is a New owner of Albas and sorry the pizza is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE compared to when Alba was still working and making the pizza here It’s too Salty and the dough kinda thick I’ve tried the plain and specialty slices “I don’t like specialty slices like the BBQ Caesar slice etc etc” but I tried it and MEH SORRY not my thing The Sicilian Slices way to doughy like just not right some how and again way to SALTY
By the way I have low blood pressure and I eat INSANE AMOUNTS OF SALTY FOOD A DAY “ my doctor says to do so” lucky me I get to eat food with Flavor 😂but for a basic NYC SLICE sorry to the new owners of Albas you have failed to Keep the Standards and Name
The back has a nice sit down restaurant I remember it being more the old diner style but they have renovated it and made it modern which is nice hence the 4* for the atmosphere but for the Pizza go elsewhere for the pasta it’s decent nothing special but you Won’t think it’s Not worth it
Again this review is about the Pizza Plain slice mainly but as said I’ve tried most of their slices and all FALLS SHORT
And yes I know this is the original Alba Remember Jack and Peter opened up a pizza joint down the block next to baskin Robins back in the day
SO Yes I know the standards Albas used to be
And alba used give us slices when we did not have enough $ and let us pay him back when we came back but again it was $1.25 a slice back then and we would be there 3-5 days a week as kids and those 50 cent to $1 Italian ice days brings back such good memories
In closing the new owners should rename This place Or pick up their standards cuz it’s a DYING SHAME what they have done to the ALBAS PIZZA...
Read moreMediocre food, some days better than others. Their sauce gives me the worst agita! Not sure if the owner if of Spanish decent, the workers are. Which is fine, however make sure they are kind, professional & HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. No hospitality what so ever. They need to hire a nice guy or girl to answer the phones, take orders correctly and in a manner that all you hear is them smiling. NO MATTER WHAT, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. My job has been ordering here since I started in 2017, good delivery, rarely late even though once it took over an hour, I dont know how if we are literally 4 blocks away. Overall they're ok, not 5 stars. Hire a professional front counter person then you can get 5 stars. You might want an Italian chef or cook to show your workers how to make authentic Italian food. Just now, had a guy take my order, they always tell us how much before they run credit card, he started taking the # and I asked how much to make sure the total is estimated correctly. He wanted me to finish giving him the exp date to run, I asked for the total. He wouldn't give it to me, he said 'You can cancel if you want' I said oh you want to get smart with me, whats your name. He said ' I have no name' - Well the owner / manager can thank NO NAME for this review. I'll be stopping by too , I want to see this...
Read moreI want to start by sharing how delicious the food here is, and I want to finish it by how rudely customers are treated by some of these Mexican workers. When the owners are there, service is outstanding, and pizzas are better. Call after, and it goes like this "Alba, what do you want?" I order from this place only as a last resort, otherwise I give my hard earned money to places that appreciate customers. Delivery wait can be anywhere from 1 hour to 2, and never has it been less, but It has been more, when my orders were forgotten. Pickup is slow as well, usually the least 40 to over an hour. Not even once was my order ready at the time of arrival, usually wait around 10 to 20 minutes on top of estimated time. I don't know if workers begin drinking on the job, but numerous times I've seen so many of them extremely drunk after hours around the corner from this place. Service is really bad, maybe people got too comfortable being there, because whenever I arrive for a pickup, ovens are more than half empty, and workers are laughing around. Also, how can my pizza be cold when I had to wait for my order to finish? My neighbors started order from the pizzeria on parsons blvd, I think I'll be...
