Just had an unforgettable dining experience at Atlas Kitchen in the Upper West Side, right near Columbia University. This place is a true gem! 💎 The restaurant’s massive space and stunning decor are inspired by mountains and the sea, making it a feast for the eyes before you even take your first bite. The ambiance is just perfect for a special night out or a cozy meal with friends or a big party. Atlas Kitchen serves up a mix of classic Chinese, Hunanese, and Sichuan cuisines, and every dish is a work of art. From the vibrant flavors to the exquisite presentation, it’s clear they put a lot of love into their food. 🌶️🍜 I highly recommend checking out this spot if you’re in NYC.

Read moreThe staff look like all students, very unprofessional. The taste is just ok, absolutely overpriced. The interior design is amazing, but I believe a good restaurant in NYC should be paid for food, not environment.
We ordered soup, no bowls provided, we then asked for bowls, it turned out no spoons coming along…? Dishes came so slow, 3-4 dishes cost one hour and half after we ordered, not even including the time we were waiting for the staff just to order. Why white sesame in braised fish filet? That’s not a right ingredient to be added in that dish. Also, the filets were deep fried before adding to the soup and they were banked up in that bowl. The unwritten rule for the ingredients being fried but unnecessary per recipe is bc they are not fresh. The restroom is disgusting. Stains, no soap, and no toilet paper.
We chose this restaurant bc of the 5 stars recommendations, but now these look like all paid to recommend w fancy...

Note, the bok choy dish seemed bland the night of, but the next day the flavors really developed. Overall, the meal was done really well, but at the same time it seemed just a slight step above a basic Chinatown experience. We ordered the whole pig trotter, steamed seafood egg, beef noodles, and bok choy. The service was generally, but they seemed short on one person because it was sometimes hard to flag someone down, but they were always very nice.
The space itself is nice and you can tell they put work into the design. We arrived around 6 PM right before the Friday dinner mass arrivef d and I assume the wait after the first seating is around 45 minutes.
NOTE: Please be careful with the bathroom because the lock does not work perfectly, so it's possible to walk in while...
