Read moreThis is definitely not the most comprehensive review since I only drank tea here. The reason why I didn’t eat food was because I saw there were SO MANY flies on the baked goods. I heard that the baked goods taste great, but after seeing the flies, I didn’t feel like trying any of them. I don’t care how good something tastes—if hygiene is not prioritized, it’s an immediate no for me. The employees either didn’t seem to mind the flies or were completely unaware that the majority of the baked goods had flies on them. I also don’t think it’s very well ventilated because there was a musky odor when I entered. I sat outside because the smell was too unappealing.
The decor is very lovely and cute—perfect for those who really like pretty cafes. I came on a Sunday, so no laptops were allowed. It’s a great space to meet up with friends and yap away. There are also a few outdoor seats, but those are more for smaller groups or individual customers.
Even right until closing time, there were a lot of customers still entering, so clearly a popular spot. If Bakeri can better handle their hygiene, I would be willing to try their pastries that I heard...
Read moreI’ve been a devotee since the first location opened. I’ve refrained from reviewing though the past few years have seen a major decline, beginning with the advent of table service, which is so disorganized and inattentive as to be laughable. The pain Au choclat I ordered the other day was half the standard size. I returned it. My latte is consistently burnt. This seems endemic to Brooklyn post pandemic, though. Odd Fox is the only place to get a latte at the right temperature. The savory tart is excellent, but, again, smaller portions. The to go tipping is insane…Everywhere, but especially here. Pay your workers a living wage. There is one staff member who is so insanely rude it makes me want to walk out. She hasn’t been there the last two days, and I’ve been gone for 3 months, so maybe she left. Absurd, like she was doing a parody of a Brooklyn barista. I say good morning she says NOTHING. JUST...
