Delightful little burger restaurant with a good setup and selection. If you're searching this area for a good burger, you've found it.
They've got a variety of specialty burgers as well as a convenient and intuitive build-your-own option. There are a few fixings to share like fries, onion rings and mozz sticks. They also have a variety of beers, wine, ales and liquors and they even have an entire Vegan menu if that's what you're looking for.
I had come here with a friend on the pretense of getting a burger, but we both decided on chicken instead, so I can't wholeheartedly vouch for their burgers, but everyone around us seemed to be enjoying theirs. It wasn't because the burger selections looked bad, but none of them really stood out to us either and chicken just sounded better in the moment. I went for grilled chicken and she had fried buttermilk chicken. We also shared some waffle fries and each had a hard apple cider, both of which were quite good. Both of our sandwiches were absolutely amazing as well.
Pricing is typical for this area of New York, which is a bit high, but not unexpected or troubling in the least; you definitely get what you paid for. Restaurant environment was clean and adequate with a quirky, cute aesthetic that fits the area. The food is killer and almost makes me want to have it again if I revisit NY again.
Definitely give this one a try if you're wanting an outstanding burger or...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but I am so stunned at what this location is selling vs what they are advertising. I purchased the wagyu smash burger. I am so incredibly upset that I paid $9 for what was smaller than a dollar meal cheese burger at McDonalds. (For reference: my hand is VERY small: 3.25 inches wide, so you can assume the burger size) The patty was half the size of the already extremely small burger bun, cooked to oblivion, a finger worth’s smear of sauce and 2 pickles. Hoping and praying good things come in small packages, I gave it a shot (it was also $9 and I was already back at work with my lunch break almost over because it took 25 minutes to make this slider sized burger). It was actually tasteless. It was like putting an ikea meatball on a potato bun. The only thing I tasted was bread. The advertised picture is a smash burger loaded with onion, sauce and a patty that extends past the bun…. What I received was a flashback to high school cafeteria lunch. I am so sick of atrocious pricing in LIC. The very least restaurants can do is provide quality food if they aren’t going to make their food affordable.
Side note: I paid $8.29 and tax for this but this advertisement that was attached to my order says $3.68….unless I’m misreading, I’m not sure why I paid a...
Read moreDon’t eat here with kids or allergies!
We came here because Bareburger is known for their detailed, meticulous, allergy menus. We ordered egg-free buns and lactose free cheese, confirmed verbally with the waiter several times, and they brought us normal burgers 35 minute later.
Thankfully we noticed 2 bites into the burger and stopped our toddler from having more of the burger as he is severely allergic to eggs. The waiter asked the manager to come. They apologized, comp’t the meal, and offered to pay medical bills. However, as any parent or people with allergies know, it’s no use apologizing after such things happen and I just don’t want this to happen to other families.
The toddler with severe egg allergy is thankfully fine. I personally got sick for 2 days from eating the lactose cheese.
Besides missing out allergy notes, it seems the restaurant is prioritizing the take out business and neglecting the restaurant. Only 1 staff was tasked to run the entire restaurant, including waiting, hosting, and bartending. It’s no surprise that the allergy notes were ignored.
We waited 35 minute for the food, didn’t complain because they were clearly understaffed, but it’s not acceptable to ignore allergy notes when you advertise this allergy menu. Please staff...
