I LOVE THESE PEOPLE, so I'm going to write a novel of a review.
I've always struggled with renting a car in NYC. I've tried everything... renting at JFK/LGA, renting at the AVIS nearby, Getaround, Hotwire, etc.
I'm so happy I finally discovered this location of Enterprise which is an 8min walk from where I live. They blow every other car rental option out of the water completely:
There's never a wait They truly value customer service & putting the customer first Their cars are great and reasonably priced Their employees actually care and are all above-average nice No crazy hidden fees or toll-related fees
The first time I rented here, I was late returning the car due to crazy flooding, and they were understanding of the situation and did not charge me a late fee. Thank you!!!!
The second time, I arrived and realized that I had forgotten to actually make a reservation. All their cars were reserved. But before I could start freaking out, they let me know they had one car they weren't planning on renting bc it smelled of smoke. They offered this to me, which of course I accepted, and I was SO GRATEFUL they made it work at the literal last minute. The car was super new and nice aside from the smell.
This is the kind of customer-centric flexibility that is hard-to-find with a lot of national-level companies, especially in the Godforsaken car rental industry. This really sets this location apart from the competition.
I guess the one downside is that they have limited hours, esp. on weekends, and you can't drop off when they're closed. But it's not a big deal to park on Atlantic overnight and drive the car back in the morning (if you're local).
Please never change!! I will be a loyal customer for as long as I live in this neighborhood!! Thank you for making it fairly painless to visit my family in NJ, get away for a...
Read moreI rented a car from Enterprise back in June and what should have been a standard transaction turned into a repeated source of stress.
From the start, I had to wait for nearly two hours in a cramped, stuffy office garage during the summer heat along with several other frustrated customers. The delay was due to Enterprise not having the cars people had reserved. I'd reserved mine weeks ahead and confirmed my rental by phone the day before. Eventually I was driven to the Crown Heights location to pick up a vehicle of a very different rental class—a "luxury" 4-door sedan (Reader, it was not luxurious)—instead of a mid-size SUV. I should also mention this occured on a summer Friday. I'd deliberately made it a point to choose a reservation time that would allow me to avoid the heaviest weekend traffic. Instead, this two-hour delay turned what should have been a two-hour drive into nearly five hours—with a dog.
For the inconvenience, an assistant branch manager told me that I would receive a refund for one day of the rental period. I patiently waited several weeks for the credit to appear on my account before reaching out to that same assistant branch manager, cc'ing the manager-in-training who'd driven me to the Crown Heights branch. When my correspondence received no reply, I disputed the appropriate portion of the charge with my credit card company.
To my surprise and disgust, Enterprise initiated collection efforts while the dispute is still ongoing. This aggressive tactic has caused unnecessary stress and wasted my time. I'm deeply disappointed with Enterprise's questionable business practices and their willingness to resort to such tactics. I urge potential renters to consider other options and proceed...
Read moreI will never rent from the Brooklyn State Street location. My experience I had there on May 23rd was horrible. °Representative,Nisha Landburg was trying to rent me a car with the Check Engine light on. Plus, the car was extremely dirty outside and inside. °Once I stated I was going to give a bad review, Nisha would not continue with the rental. Total walked away from me. °Manager Morgan Galdenzi continued with the process. The car she gave was dirty. Their cars have major unseen body parts issues. The bumper came off while being driven. That location blames me for it. My insurance has to pay for their bogus claim. Stating the car was hit. There was absolutely no collision. However, I have learned a lesson, whenever you rent a car from that location, take a video recording of the car. Because they get their repairs, but blaming the customer. °Also, they are the worst site to contact by phone. They keep you on hold for over 30 minutes. I actually went there while on hold, and they were sitting at the desk, ignoring the caller on hold. Which, I was one of the callers. They were not busy. Please do not go to that site in brooklyn on State Street. My name is Sheila Roberts. If you really choose to contact me, my personal information is...
