I used to go a LOT, like every second day. I thought I was contributing to a local chain. I took atleast 7 of my friends too. But not anymore. I used to order cappuccinos because their latte feel a little diluted. The latte is literally 2 sips more milk than a cappuccino. So I would request them to add just 2 sips more milk in my cappuccino - must have happened on 4 occasions max. Out of which two of the baristas (very sullenly) on 2 occasions told me that I should order lattes and that they won’t add 2 extra sips of milk. They threw away the milk in the sink, which they had brewed extra for my cup of coffee, right in front of my eyes, rather than just adding it in my coffee. What a shameful, sad thing to do. I was so disgusted by the sheer act of cold meanness. What is the matter with some people? You would rather throw away a small amount of milk in the sink than giving it to a customer? I hadn’t even asked for any extra effort of taking out extra milk from a carton and heating it up for me. It was literally in the jar from which both of them were serving.
If you don’t have the heart or decency to be kind to the people who help you to be employed, I don’t think I will be visiting ever again. Sad to see you lost so much business including generous tips because you are poor at customer satisfaction or...
Read moreStopped here a couple of years ago on a visit to NYC. Went there again last week on a return visit. Birch is now a staple on my visits! Coffee, both drip and espresso is always above average. It’s what you would expect from a 3rd wave, local shop. The staff isn’t snobby or pretentious (as they can be at other big name places). The vibe is friendly and relaxed. The playlist was spot on and I had to refrain from air guitaring on several occasions. The barista was very friendly and knowledgeable and could sing every done on the playlist. Seating is a bit of an issue - one large table in the middle of the small shop. The line snakes around the table, so it can feel a little crowded when it gets busy. I always buy a bag of beans to bring back with me and they’re...
Read moreI'm so happy to share my glowing review of the Birch Coffee on East 88th St! ✨ It's been the go-to spot for my wife & I over the past year now, & it just keeps getting better. Of course the coffee is always on point ☕️, but it's the staff that truly makes this place special. Alicia, Emily, & Will always welcome you with a smile 😊. Their friendly service & positive energy brighten my day. The amount of regulars I now know & greet from the neighbourhood is proof we arent the only ones who feel this way. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the neighborhood! You won't be disappointed. It's the perfect place to grab a quick coffee 🏃♀️ or relax and enjoy the atmosphere. #BirchCoffee #East88thSt...
