Seems like a hit or miss depending if you dine in or order take out. I’ve ordered take out multiple times to try variety of items and dined in twice and come to this conclusion:
Thai Iced Tea - 3.5/5 this was not bad drinking it in the restaurant. Every time I get it to go, it’s too milky, or not enough tea taste, or not quite sweet enough. Avoid this for take out!
Crispy Viet Style Fish - 4/5 light and crispy batter for the fish. Fish was very moist and not overcooked nor fishy. Goes well with the tangy and sweet sauce. Anything fried I would recommend eating at the restaurant.
Rare Ribeye Pho - 4.5/5 Definitely one of the better dishes at this restaurant. Good portions of the meat and soup. The soup you can tell is not diluted and very beefy flavor. Getting this for take-out is acceptable as well
Grilled Pork Banh Mi - 4/5 Rated this high because of the really big meat portions to price ratio. Pork is flavorful and they don’t skimp on the sandwich. Getting this for take-out is acceptable as well.
Spring Roll - 2.5/5 Would not recommend unless you’re desperately wanting some type of spring rolls and there isn’t anywhere else to get them. They’re inconsistent in terms of fillings. One roll can be filled with taro and a little meat, and lack noodles and carrots or mushrooms. Another roll can be very meaty and have some carrots but not taro, etc. Their fish sauce that pairs with it is also not that flavorful, almost too diluted. Don’t get this for take-out, as they put in plastic container without holes in it and the eggrolls will get soggy. Hopefully they will change that.
Beef Satay - 3/5 Decent for satay. The beef was not dry and tender surprisingly. The peanut sauce was just okay, could be a little sweeter and maybe add some spice. Getting this for take-out is acceptable as well.
Crispy Calamari/Crispy Salt and Pepper Squid - don’t bother with these, not enough seasoning and just doesn’t...
Read moreIm very happy to see a pho place closer to the rego park area open up!
My brother and I came in around 5pm. It was a full and busy with customers with only 2 smaller tables left.
My brother and I ordered: Spring rolls (4) House special pho Brisket, tendon, and tripe pho Honey calamansi drink Lychee thai drink
The food was pretty good but was not mindblowing compared to our spots I've had in flushing. Its definately hit the spot for our pho craving without having to travel out for pho which was a major plus.
The spring rolls were very crispy but wish the meat had a little more flavor to it. My brother prefers the way it was made here to other places though.
Personally, I think the broth was a little bland for my taste. It helped by adding some sauce they have on the side.
The two drinks were alright. The lychee thai drink had a bitter aftertaste which wasnt the best. Not sure if the tea was brewed for too long or if its a tea concentrate.
I would love to try their our options like the cubed meat. The smell in the resturant was great. All the ingredients came out clean and crisp. Before leaving we saw a huge shipment of my pork bones/meat delivered which all looked fresh and ready...
Read moreNew Viet and Thai spot in Rego Park. Got the house special pho, pork chop bahn hoi, papaya salad and (free) spring rolls. Overall, definitely recommend trying and happy to have a local spot instead of needing to drive to Elmhurst. Will.come again.
Pho: Very good. While the bowl is smaller than the usual spots in Elmhurst they give you a TON of noodles and plenty of beef and tendons. I could barely finish this dish myself (I can usually finish the extra large bowls from the Elmhurst spots easily). While the broth isn't as clear as what I'm normally used to seeing, it is full of beef flavor. Recommend trying this.
Pork chop bahn hoi: very good. They gave plenty of lettuce and cucumbers and pickled carrots. Only knock on the dish is that the noodles seemed to be a bit over steamed/soft. Would still order this again though.
Papaya salad: good, nothing out of the ordinary. Definitely hits the spot if craving for papaya salad.
Spring rolls: my least favorite, not sure if it was the "free" size dish but it's smaller compared to the usual Viet spots. Thinner and missing the usual blistered skin on the...
