My partner and I are regulars of Blue Ribbon Sushi Financial District, and no matter how many sushi spots we try, nothing compares to the experience here. Not even their Soho location! The food is amazing here, but it’s the people who make this place exceptional.

The team at Blue Ribbon Sushi FiDi is a masterclass in hospitality. From the moment we walk in, we’re greeted like family. Over the years, we’ve had countless meals here—quiet dinners for two, celebrations with family—and each one has been elevated by the warmth, professionalism, and kindness of the staff.

We especially want to shout out a few standouts who have made all our visits truly unforgettable. Htet and Hendy are server extraordinaires! It’s a good thing we’re not in the restaurant business because we would steal them in a heartbeat! Urgen always greets us with the warmest welcome, and we cannot forget Ice, captain of the ship! This place is a gem, and one of a kind in this area.

Whether it’s an expertly crafted Ka cocktail, the freshest Sashimi in New York, a Crispy Rice starter roll, or just a genuine conversation at the end of a long week, the team at Blue Ribbon Sushi delivers an experience that goes far beyond the plate. My favorite FiDi restaurant for brunch and hosting special events.

Special Events: The venue for my sister's bridal shower cancelled the morning of the event, and I called Blue Ribbon Federal Grill in a complete panic. Sam, the manager, was calm and reassuring on the phone and said he could take care of the situation, no problem. He was able to put aside tables for 30 people, and allowed me to bring my own cake and balloons and use the space for over 3 hours. The food and drinks were wonderful, and my guests had a wonderful time. This restaurant really saved the day, and I'll be forever grateful. Their service is incredible!

Brunch: Like I said, it's my favorite FiDi brunch spot. My favorites are the Smoked Salmon Benedict (delicate, flavorful, plated very well) and the Chorizo Hash (an American, let's-get-full, savory delight). It's a nice quiet spot to enjoy a late morning and have a real conversation with your party.

Dinner: Had a great Sunday birthday dinner here with my parents. Very clean and new and sharp - the staff was professional, nice, and knowledgeable. Appetizers, like the veal tartare and tuna poke, we're delicious. Extensive...

We really had a good time tonight at Blue Ribbon Sushi. We walked in and we were greeted right away. As we went to our chair the entire staff welcomed us. It made us feel happy to be there. They gave us a great seat right in front of the sushi chefs. I had a lot of questions about the menu but the server was very patient and explained everything for me. I ordered the sushi general, which is 7 pieces of sushi that they pick for you. My companion ordered two rolls. We also ordered the green tea creme brulee and the ginger bread for dessert. At one point during dinner we spilled a little water on the table. They came and wiped it up. That was nice of them. Everything was amazing. The food, the drinks, the dessert, the service, the atmosphere was great.
