Bobo's Crab Shack (Fordham) — Restaurant in New York

The food lacks Flavor, Flavor, Flavor! This is the 2nd time I visited and I have to say that this will be my last time coming back. The first time I ordered the Shrimp and Crab leg combo with the special/house sauce. It came with potatoes, egg and corn. The potatoes are huge (consider using small red potatoes) and the corn was too soft (like it has been boiled for a long time) it does not have the crunchy bite to it. The most disappointing was the sauce. It was mostly watery and lacked flavor. It did not match the description that I was expecting. I have been to other seafood places and the sauce has a nice thick consistency that has the flavor, so much so that you just soak it up with the bread. I did not get this.

On my 2nd visit I ordered the Clam Chowder, hush puppies, mac n cheese bites, and Shrimp Basket. Again I was met with disappointment. The Clam chowder was watery and not like the thick broth is supposed to be, the kind that sticks to your ribs. The taste was decent. Hush puppies were good. The mac n cheese bites are filled with Mozzarella cheese, however there needs to be more seasoning in the breading to make it tastier The Shrimp basket- you get decent size shrimps. The breading is a light batter, however without the flavor, this shrimp falls flat. The Cajun seasoning description does not live up to its name. Very bland in taste.

I was really looking forward to having this type of restaurant in the neighborhood, since there is really only spanish food. There is another seafood restaurant coming soon up the block, maybe this...

If you walk into this place expecting for any of your food to come out looking like the pictures, then just turn back around. I ordered the chicken tenders to go. Walked all the way home and when I opened up that box, I walked right back. I received shriveled up over-fried chicken nuggets. Whatever you think a tender looks like cut that in half and this is what they will serve you and still look at you in your face and tell you they are chicken tenders. I will say that the customer service is pretty good. I have tried other things like the rice and the pasta which leave much to be desired. The pasta is mostly noodles and the rice is very mushy. I might change my mind if I try a boil since a lot of people go in for that, but I’m not going to say that the food is the best and a bit misleading. I will say the crab...

My significant other bought a seafood boil double the amount and only got a pound. We called and the customer rep had nothing to say except for being rude. Saying what you buy is basically what you get. What he got did not come to the amount that was asked of him. We called to speak to a manager he tried to gaslight and go around the question. He just wanted his moneys worth of food. I called again and this person hung up. The customer service sucks. When I ordered wings and fries the fries were not fresh. Tell them to change the oil because everything taste the same. My wings taste like fried shrimp. DONT BUY...
