Brooklyn Standard 2 — Restaurant in New York

Truly I would give 0 stars if that was an option. DO NOT eat here if you are gluten free or have celiac disease. I first ate here almost a year ago. I ordered a gluten free turkey sandwich, and they said they only had gluten free bagels since they were out if rolls, I told them it was fine. When I got the sandwhich it was on a regular hero, and when I asked the cashier about it she told me that was what I ordered and I never said that I was gluten free, despite telling her I had celiac. She would not refund it or remake it so I had to BUY a new sandwhich. I went back today, almost a year later to give it a second try. I ordered 3 gluten free sandwhiches, she tells me they are out of gluten free rolls and only have bagels left, I tell her it’s fine, as long as it’s gluten free. The sandwhiches come out and they are all on rolls. I tell her I thought it was on gf bagel and she says they are out so they put it on a gluten free roll instead ( which she said they were out of???) I notice that my roast beef sandwhich is marked “seitan” I tell her I ordered the roast beef and tell her seitan is not even gluten free?? It’s a wheat flour and water meat alternative?? She seems annoyed but says that they’re going to remake it. They remake it. It’s on a regular non gluten free roll. I tell her that it needs to be gluten free or I will be so sick. She tells me it’s gluten free and reassures me 4 times, I look in the window and can see the roll that my sandwhich is on. It is a regular non-gluten free hoagie roll as I thought. I left and cried it was so embarrassing. I didn’t get a refund and I couldn’t eat what I ordered. This place...

I live somewhat close to this place and every Saturday that I have been there I feel that I am annoying the women that work there. They always seem to be upset that I am ordering just coffee. I thought it was just me but I went in again with my mother hoping I would have a different experience but my mom actually called the girl out of her attitude not knowing I feel the same way everytime I order. I ordered food for my son and wife through my wife's seamless account. Not only they were late but most dangerous thing that happened was that I found small plastic shards in both order of fries one was meant for my 2 year old son thank goodness I checked and suffered a piece stuck in my throat for a day luckily my wife took it out with tweezers.
