S.A.B. Super Action Burger — Restaurant in New York

This place is mostly disappointing. It’s way too cramped and I only went with a party of 3. The machines that were available didn’t work. When I asked for some help, it took 15 minutes for someone to attend to the machine and when they reset it, they never actually checked to see if it turned back on. They want it to be self serve but with controllers scatter all over the place and unlabeled, it’s really hard to do so. The other clientele also dampened the experience. A single party was taking up seating in other tables by leaving their things there. It was difficult to get comfortable.

The food was mostly good at least. Nachos weren’t good, but my chicken sandwich and my friends burger was good. I liked the milkshakes as well.

I wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately I won’t be back.

UPDATE: This is to reply to the owner. Reading the instructions didn’t help with “no signal”. The computer was off. If the instructions said I could flip open the cabinet and hit the power button myself I would have handled it myself. There weren’t any PS2 controllers next to the PS2, just a PS3 controller that wasn’t connecting to anything. The only other controllers nearby were the Switch controllers on the bar and a plethora of 3rd party controllers. To be constructive, maybe have a proper place next to the consoles for the customer's to put the controllers away when they’re done? That would be easier for customers and surely for management too. I understand things were busy and that staffing was low but why does someone in the kitchen need to come out to help with the machines? That’s a problem. Around 11:45 I placed a last min order thru Uber Eats. It looked like I would be picking it up b/n 12:30-1:00am (just as SAB was closing @1). When I arrived at 12:45; they had no idea what I was talking about. There were 2 staff cleaning up and shutting everything down. I pulled out my phone to show them the order and lo and behold it was for the following day. Now it’s nearly 1am and I know there’s nowhere else to grab food on our drive home, but before either my husband or I could say another word, the owner and the cook were offering to make our order on the spot. We protested- it was way too late and they were 100% faultless as far as the botched order- but they insisted. NOT ONLY did they stay super late to make our food, but it was DELICIOUS! I had a veggie burger, which was similar to a classic VB from a diner, where the peas and other veggies are visible but it held together perfectly (unlike many similar burgers). My husband got their S.A.B. Combo and they even made him sweet potato fries at that late hour- he loved the burger and I can attest to the fries being fantastic.

I couldn’t believe that after a long night of hard work, these people went out of their way to accommodate us. Not only was the food great but the service so far exceeded my expectations. I LOVE ACTION BURGER!!! I recommend this spot to literally everyone I know, from NYC natives to tourists—everyone has GOT to try Action Burger! These photos are from my 22nd birthday celebration. I celebrated with several friends, my partner, and my parents; we got a tower of alcohol, several meals, and played endless games through the night! The drinks are awesome, super tasty, and they will definitely get you drunk without the overpowering taste of alcohol :’) The food is INCREDIBLE—innovative, unique, delicious, and creative! Recipes I’ve never seen before! Parties here are always super fun, great spot to come to after a concert or event, late nights and lots of laughs! You can even reserve your own birthday party or wedding at Action Burger.

This is also a small, Black-owned business, so I love having people show support for this reason as well! We’ve got to support our local, small businesses, especially those that are Black-owned.

This establishment has been disrespected by people in the community on several occasions, so please do not pay mind to any negative reviews regarding some kids who decided to trash the establishment!
