Great Atmosphere! I found Kinda Good Coffee by accident last week. I was on my way to work and saw it out of the corner of my eye. It piqued my interest and so I figured I’d stop by. I swerved across Main Street like a drunk driver and hastily pulled into a corner space. I speed walked to the entrance like someone with indigestion on the way to the bathroom. As I opened the door, a little bell the size of a munchkin rang cheerily. I took a glance at the menu and figured it was adequate. The tables were old and rickety, and the brick walls were as dusty as your grandmother’s attic. I walked up to the counter to order and the grimy cashier looked at me like I had just eaten the last donut or something. I asked for a medium coffee with cream and sugar. She grunted like a boar and turned around, hollering something to one of the workers in the back. She swiveled back around and stared at me menacingly, like a tiger stalking its prey. I backed off and sat in one of the chairs (which felt about as stable as sitting on a pile of bones). The cashier yelled my name, rousing me from my stupor. Overall, a great spot! You really can’t get much better in...
Read moreOk, I’m not a coffee drinker but chai lattes are my specialty. I ordered a chai latte with almond milk and a vegan pumpkin spice loaf. The chai latte was not the best Ive had. The spice level was good just different, it was lukewarm I prefer hot but not mouth burning hot! And it was slightly sweetened and I thought could have been a teensy bit sweeter. But not as sweet as Starbucks! As per the pumpkin loaf. It’s was DELICIOUS! It almost made up for the chai. The loaf and chai together was a good pair. I would not have enjoyed the chai alone. The loaf was moist, spiced and perfectly sweetened, and had pumpkin seeds baked in. The employees are patient, friendly and very thorough. The environment is warm and comforting. There are 2 long tables so you will always sit with someone else. If you prefer your own space, there’s no space for that here. If the chai was a little sweeter and warmer I probably would have given Grumpy cafe a 5 star review. But again, I don’t drink coffee so my review may not be relevant to most...
Read moreCafé Grumpy - Fashion District is a nice, quiet spot. I was in search of a good cappuccino and stumbled upon this place due to its positive reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I first inquired about the size of the cups they use for small cappuccinos. The barista showed me an 8-ounce paper cup, but I preferred a ceramic cup, which appeared to be larger than 8 ounces. However, the barista insisted it was an 8-ounce cup. I ordered the cappuccino anyway, but I felt there was too much milk in it. I still believe it was served in a 12-ounce cup, not 8. Putting a single shot in a larger cup results in more of a milk-based drink rather than a proper cappuccino. If the cappuccino had been served in a smaller cup, it would have tasted much better. Nonetheless, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. There are two large communal tables, so you'll be sharing your table space with others. If you prefer having a small table to yourself, this may not be the...
