I’m not sure why everyone leaves such good reviews about this place. Yes it’s aesthetically pleasing to look at, people seemed to be enjoying themselves, but the brigadeiro latte I got tasted like water with some chocolate sprinkles. The sandwich was good, but isn’t filling for the price they charge. It was one small drink, and a croissant breakfast sandwich - for it to be charged total 20 something dollars is insane. Furthermore, I told the owner that I was running late and I would be there around 10:30 instead of my pick up time of 10 o’clock. So I’m not sure why I got a notification on my phone that at 9:30 AM my order was ready. I have attached a screenshot of the confirmation that my order was ready and the call log in which I had spoken to the owner that he told me my order was being made around 8:18 AM. I arrived a little earlier than expected, approach the counter cheerfully and asked for my order assuming it was ready because I got a confirmation. The owner was unsmiling from the beginning and says to me snappishly that I said 10:30. My order was still in the process of being made. I apologized politely and I said lost track of time. I was taken back by the hostility. I didn’t think to show him my confirmation text that it had been ready ahead of time. It’s strange because he said during the call that my order was already being made. So I said politely OK not a problem and I waited at the side for both my drink and the sandwich. I thanked the owner each time something was ready and he just averts eye contact with me and says nothing walking away. I was not impolite and really didn’t understand the coldness I was received. I understand they were busy for the morning rush, but I received a confirmation that my order was ready ahead of time, so I’m not sure if there was a misunderstanding in the kitchen, but I should not have received a confirmation, if my order was not even made yet because I had spoken with the owner beforehand coming to the café. There was no reason for the uncalled for hostility especially when I was polite, I had received a confirmation text ahead of time and was told by the owner my order was already being made around 8:18 AM, an hour before I had even arrived at the café. In addition, the price is too much for one small drink, and a sandwich. The drink as I said, just tasted of water with...

Great Brazilian pastry. Tastefully designed place. Nice people. Have never tried Brazilian cheese breads until yesterday, when I happened to be in downtown for work. Was impressed with the variety and multiple vegetarian options: Black Olives, Pesto, Original, Jalapeno and Roasted Garlic. All these cheese breads were super tasty and... light (rare combination:-). Also was pleasantly surprised with the quality of their coffee. Staff was super nice and helpful. One interesting difference from other coffees I have noticed. In an average cafe after you order at the counter, you usually wait until your name is "yelled". Then you usually go and grab your food/drink. These guys actually would bring the order right to where you are. Small thing, but makes a huge difference. Will...

What a wonderful find in the seaport! We were looking for hot cocoa and coffee and they delivered on that plus more! They had peppermint hot cocoa, made with pieces of chocolate. The late was la colombe, well pulled. And their sweet treats were top notch. The most pleasant surprise was being introduced to Brazilian pao de quiero - little gluten-free cheese breads! They were fantastic. But what really made this place stand out, was the warm, welcoming and friendly staff. We ended up staying for a while, learning about Brazil and their lives. Such a charming place. We've already promised ourselves to become regulars even though the season isn't on a regular route for us. Can't wait to come back to a place that made us feel so welcome and...

Stopped into this little Brazilian cafe to try some of their Pão de Queijo - Brazilian Cheese Bread, and while the food was delicious, we also found that the atmosphere and overall vibe of the cafe was welcoming and relaxed. It's in a great location, seconds away from a decent view of the Brooklyn Bridge, and the staff were all extremely friendly. Despite being here in the morning there was no extreme rush, and tables would fill and empty at a leisurely pace. Most of the other patrons were happy to clean up after themselves and each other, which is nice to see. I'd definitely come back here, and maybe stop for some tea or coffee if I have more time. Great place, highly recommended!
