Pier 15 is one of my favorite spots in New York City—it’s a peaceful escape right in the middle of all the action. From the moment you step onto the pier, you’re greeted with breathtaking panoramic views of the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Lower Manhattan skyline. Whether you’re visiting during the day or at sunset, the views never disappoint. The upper level offers an elevated perspective and is perfect for photos or just sitting quietly while taking in the scenery.
What I love most about Pier 15 is the atmosphere—it’s clean, well-kept, and never feels too crowded. There’s plenty of seating, including lounge-style benches and grassy areas where people can relax, have a snack, read, or even meditate. It’s ideal for a calm solo stroll or a romantic moment if you’re visiting with someone special. You can also see ferries coming and going, which adds to the charm and energy of the area.
It’s also conveniently located near the Seaport District, so it’s easy to grab a coffee or bite to eat nearby before or after visiting. Pier 15 manages to feel like a hidden gem despite being so central. I always leave feeling more grounded and refreshed. If you’re looking for a peaceful yet stunning spot to enjoy the beauty of New York, Pier 15 is absolutely...

Read moreWe went to visit the place as family. One of our sons adores the boats. Apparently the ticketing service was good. There is a museum situated on the pier not so rich in facts but we were prepared for a long wait to take the tugboat. It was supposed to go at 1.30 PM. At 1.45 still nothing happend and then a short summer rain came. The boat and the crew were present on the pier they were looking and laughing like "professional" sailors. Although we were three families waiting in the rain, they didn't make any announcement about delay/cancellation of our trip. After 2 hours spent on the Pier 15 and completely wet, we decided to leave and ask for our money back. Did you know that in Customer Service history, just apologizing doesn't add value to...
