I have experienced this cruise before and absolutely loved it! Not so much this time... The rainy weather aside, (mother nature will do what she wants), this cruise was a big let down. The seats were comfortable enough. The snack bar was adequate. We left and returned exactly on time. Unfortunately, Tom, the tour guide was underwhelming at best and rude and politically opinionated throughout the cruise. You should be able to understand ever word spoken by a spokesperson; Tom mumbled, unless he was making some personal socio-political point. On a tour of NYC's landmarks, I don't think that referencing horrible bombing events in Sri Lanka is appropriate. I get it that Tom doesn't speak 6 languages, neither do I. The difference is that I don't talk to large groups of folks who may not speak English as if that is somehow a shortcoming. There are better ways to direct folks to your tour guide app. As an aside ... Most folks visiting here from abroad speak several languages... English included. Lastly, I get the whole vip seating/ privilege thing but, there are cultures around the world where lines, ques, and cordoned off areas are merely suggestions...it is a cultural thing. Calling out one of your paying guests for stepping into the "vip" area and incorporating the call-out into your tour guide patter by publicly making fun of her was uncalled for and simply rude! Tom made an assignment of himself and The Circle...
Read moreTook this cruise last week. It was a shambles from start to finish!
We arrived in plenty of time to board the boat and boarded with no issues. The issues started when a large group tried to board just as the cruise was scheduled to leave.
There was a lot of arguing between the staff and the group to which we were all then told to leave the boat and gather back on the peer. It turned out that the staff member had let another large group on the boat when it wasn't the time they had booked for, therefore the boat was now over capacity.
When trying to board back onto the boat I was aggressively and physically stopped by a member of the group that tried to board late as she wanted her group to board before everyone else. This lady was very violent and confrontational. At this point I mentioned to a member of staff that I didn't appreciate being treated like this by another passenger and that they need to try to gain some organisation to which she responded that I should go get a refund from Viator.
The cruise itself was good, the views of the statue were great so cant fault that but it was difficult to enjoy after the chaos at...

The ferry ride alone offers amazing views of the Manhattan skyline, and once you reach Liberty Island, the energy changes — it's awe-inspiring to stand at the foot of one of the world’s most iconic monuments.
I highly recommend getting the pedestal or crown access if available — the views are worth it! The museum on Liberty Island is well-organized, educational, and interactive. I learned so much about the history and symbolism behind the statue. Afterward, the ferry continues to Ellis Island, which is equally powerful. Walking through the immigration halls gave me goosebumps. You feel the stories of millions who entered America with hope.
The whole tour takes around 3–4 hours, but it’s worth every second. Bring water, comfy shoes, and your camera — and try to go early to avoid long lines. Whether you're a history buff or just curious, this is one of the best ways to connect with the...
