My recent experience at Paris Café was nothing short of a scorching nightmare. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with an oppressive wave of heat that made me question my decision to dine there. The discomfort was so unbearable that I felt like I was being slow-roasted alongside the entrees!
Feeling utterly dismayed, I decided to voice my concerns to the General Manager, Fernando Bernal, hoping for some understanding and a possible solution. But to my dismay, Mr. Bernal's response left me flabbergasted. Instead of taking responsibility for the sweltering conditions in his cafe, he had the audacity to suggest that I should "wait until it gets cooler" before considering a return visit. Can you believe it? What an absurd and idiotic remark!
Dear Mr. Bernal, do you honestly think your customers have nothing better to do than twiddle our thumbs while your cafe turns into a frigid winter wonderland? Your suggestion is not just ludicrous, it's an insult to our intelligence and an embarrassment to your role as the General Manager. I expected better from someone in your position.
Furthermore, your feeble excuse of operating in an old building and facing city hurdles falls flat. Countless other establishments manage to create a comfortable ambiance without subjecting their patrons to a sauna-like environment. Your inability to invest in proper cooling systems and your lack of initiative to find solutions are a clear reflection of your incompetence.
To all potential diners, I implore you to avoid Paris Café like the plague. It is evident that the management cares more about making a quick buck than ensuring their customers' comfort and satisfaction. There are plenty of other restaurants in New York where you can enjoy a pleasant meal without feeling like you've stepped into a blazing furnace.
In conclusion, Paris Café, under the "leadership" of Mr. Fernando Bernal, is a disaster waiting to happen. Save yourself the agony and find a place that values its customers and actually knows how to run a restaurant with basic regard for customer well-being.

Read moreI had one of the worst, racist, and prejudice experiences of my life last night as I and a few friends attempted to gain entry into this establishment. A mutual friend was DJing and told us that we could come see him spin and all we needed to do was say his name at the door. When we arrived we were immediately met with issues. The woman working the door (she had black hair) kept saying that the DJ never turned in his list and lied about sending the general manager to talk to him to get our names to let us in. For 30 minutes we were left standing outside in the pouring freezing rain while we watched multiple large groups in the line go in before us. No one ever asked us or provided the opportunity to come in the general line, we were just left waiting outside. The only Black people in the general vicinity were given the run around and left out in the cold. Then, the head of events came to tell us more lies (she was wearing a red dress and was small and mousey) that they talked to our friend and he said, "there are 3 girls with me" AKA US, but she still refused to let us in. When we finally had enough, I asked to speak to the lady in the red dress and calmly and thoroughly expressed my disappointment about how we were treated, she stepped to me and said, "don't get violent with me." She had the audacity to tell a Black woman that was calmly expressing her negative experience she was being violent. Absolutely horrendous and unacceptable behavior. And to know that this establishment has a history of racism and anti-semitism makes all the sense in the world. No one should give this establishment...
Read moreOur evening at Paris Café, nestled within the historic landmark building at 119 South Street, New York, NY 10038, was nothing short of exceptional. We attended their Wednesday jazz night, and the atmosphere was a seamless blend of intimacy and elegance. The live jazz provided a refined backdrop—smooth, soulful, and impeccably curated—perfectly complementing the timeless charm of the space.
The culinary experience was equally exquisite. We began with the silky, perfectly seasoned foie gras, which melted effortlessly on the palate, and the delicately prepared escargots, bathed in a fragrant garlic-parsley butter that was both indulgent and balanced. For our mains, the steak frites au poivre was succulent and impeccably cooked, with a velvety peppercorn sauce that elevated every bite, while the poulet fermier showcased tender, farm-fresh chicken infused with delicate herbs, a dish that felt both rustic and refined. To conclude, La Révolution was a masterpiece of French pastry craftsmanship—rich, beautifully plated, and the perfect finale to an extraordinary meal.
The service matched the caliber of the cuisine—attentive yet unobtrusive, with every detail handled gracefully. From start to finish, the evening felt thoughtfully curated, making Paris Café not just a restaurant, but a destination for those who appreciate culinary artistry, historic charm, and sophisticated ambiance.
