SUteiShi is a fun spot in the Seaport district. You get a nice view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the wonderful breeze for being close to the water front.
The staff is very helpful, patient, and will take the time to answer any questions about the menu. They are also fun in that they are willing give solid recommendations if you ask.
The wonderful thing about being in NYC is that there are restaurants at different price points and preferences. For SUteiShi’s price point, their menu offering and fish quality is solid.
I ordered their Perfect 10, homemade miso soup, fried ice cream, and yuzu lemonade.
Their nigiri sushi had a good ratio of rice to fish. This is my personal bias, I like my rice slightly on the drier side and I felt their rice had a little too much moisture. Their maki roll was well constructed and I didn’t have the roll unravel.
Their miso soup has a very home made feel and uses more kelp than I have seen in most restaurants. It had a good flavor.
It was lovely to enjoy a glass of yuzu lemonade. It that the perfect tartness that is great for a warm spring evening. Oh and FRIED + ice cream, need I say more.
If you are in the Seaport area, I would recommend you look over SUteiShi’s menu...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of SUteiShi for their takeout and delivery, so when I saw they had a Pulsd deal, I decided to take the plunge and dine in. Let me tell you, I’m so glad I did! We did the Omakase Sushi Dinner for Two, which was an absolute feast. The meal includes a sushi starter, 16 fusion sushi pieces (8 nigiri per person), 2 specialty rolls, a carafe of hot sake, and a spicy mayo pack to take home. Each piece was fresh, bursting with flavor, and meticulously crafted. The sushi was beautifully presented, and the fusion elements were a delicious surprise, offering a mix of traditional and innovative flavors.
What really made this experience unforgettable, though, was the atmosphere. The side doors were open, giving us a stunning, romantic view of the Brooklyn Bridge. It created such a cozy and intimate vibe that made the meal feel even more special.
Having enjoyed their takeout before, I was already a fan, but dining in took it to a whole new level. The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe was perfect for a relaxed but elevated meal. If you’ve only had their takeout, do yourself a favor and dine in next time! You...
Read moreNice and relatively comfortable spot and friendly staff. The evening was pleasant so they had the glass wall opened. That was fine up until the food started to arrive. This is also when the little fly's started to pay us a visit, but not too too bad. As for the food, it was pretty average stuff you can get from any take out Japanese joint. The happy out fried shumai and gyoza are of the frozen supermarket variety and the dipping sauce was interesting but found it too salty. For the main I got the bento box with the salmon. The sushi and sashimi that came with the box were fresh and sushi rice had the right temp and texture. The salmon was slightly more cooked than I would like but I'm just nit picking up. The salad that came with the box was compose of a well dressed spring mix instead of the usual lettuce which I found refreshing. So why the 3 stars. Well I would have given it 3 and a half if there was an option. Food was pretty average. Nothing wowed us and the quality met the minimum level for a Japanese restaurant. I would say it's a good spot to have a few drinks but for a good quality Japanese food experience...
