Not sure what happened with my order.
I ordered online and received the notification on my email that my order was ready for pickup. After I went to the restaurant, they said, "it's coming." I don't mind to wait for my order but I was wondering why they sent me a notification already when my order wasn't ready. I found it a little odd and hoped that they took their time and made sure that the order was okay. I had ordered a bunch of items: one Cheeseburger, one Crispy Chicken Sandwich, two Pizza Rolls and the 5pcs Chicken Fry.
I hoped that the order was okay as it was packed really nicely when they handed me. I then took the subway to my home which was 30mins away. Later I opened my order when I was home and it seemed that they didn't give me the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Instead, they gave me a Regular Chicken Sandwich - it was no way the "Crispy" one because when I checked the reviews, the Crispy Chicken Sandwich looked very different from what I received.
Am I mad? No, I'm not. Am I disappointed? Yes, I'm. This restaurant has a whooping 4.1 rating. This was also my first time coming here and I thanked them thrice to appreciate their hard work towards my big order. However, I meet with disappointment later on. Really something was up with my order. If they just politely informed me that they ran out of Crispy Chicken Sandwich, then I'd have happily accepted the regular Chicken Sandwich. Why just replace my sandwich without telling me?
Never knew that a 4.1 rated restaurant would disappoint me this way.
Taste:
The Pizza Rolls - I wouldn't say that I liked them. I don't know if they would usually come with cheese or not, but I think cheese and pizza are pairs so shouldn't they be there?
Cheeseburger - I'm sorry to say this but the beef patty wasn't seasoned at all. The cheese is there, some lettuce, maybe a little bit of salt but I didn't taste anything else in there. The beef patty was straight bland. The cheeseburger is actually bigger than the Chicken Sandwich and comes with a sesame bun.
Chicken Sandwich - Edible, had some lettuce, a slice of tomato, a tangy sauce which made it taste nice.
5pcs Fried Chicken - Two huge thighs, two leg pieces and a piece of chicken wing are all that you get. The crispy outer batter is a little salty but the fries tasted good.
Sauces - I was given two packs of hot sauce and one...
Read moreOverall this is a very clean place and the employees are super friendly. The menu is huge with a great selection. I ordered the chicken gyro and skipped the salad and the ranch sauce. The first thing I noticed was that the guy behind the counter making the gyros for other customers was not wearing any gloves and when he was wrapping the gyros up with tin foil his bare hands were coming into contact with the food. I wanted to say something but I was really hungry. The gyro that I ordered had no taste and needed salt, but otherwise it was absolutely fresh. They give a generous portion of chicken in the sandwich. Then while I was eating one of the employees was putting up the chairs so he could sweep and spraying the tables so he could wipe them down. This obviously did not help make the experience any better. One of the other customers asked if they were about to close and the employee said that they close at 4am. But it was 2pm when they were sweeping the floor and spraying the tables. On the way out they were very nice, polite and asked me how was everything. I didn’t say anything but decided to write this review. It’s not a bad place to be quite honest. People get off work late and this place is great to grab a bite before going home. But there is so much room for improvement. For one it is absolutely necessary that the person making or prepping the food behind the counter wear gloves. And the sweeping, mopping and spraying the tables should be done near closing time or an hour before closing. Not while we are in the...
Read moreUpdate: 5/10/2025 Castle Chicken really let me down with their “Happy Chicken or Lamb” deal. It used to come in a good-sized bowl and actually felt like a decent meal for $2.99. Obviously it’s not supposed to be a full meal bc of the price. It’s like a good side or in addition to whatever else you’re having. But recently they’ve switched to a small, flimsy rectangular container—the kind you usually see used for sushi rolls—and the portion is way smaller. It’s hard not to feel shortchanged. Disappointing to see them reduce quality like this just to save a buck.
