Civic Deli — Restaurant in New York

Walked in for the first time today and was greeted with the asian clerks yelling across the room at kitchen workers. The sandwich maker all the way in the back who made my philly cheesesteak was the worst service worker i ever spoke to. the line system is unclear so i waited around until no one was approaching the worker to place an order. i quietly walked up and assuming i walked to the front from a diffrent side he proceeded to tell me the line was back there and pointed tot he entrance. I didnt want to cause issues so i went all the way to the back of the line again. I got my sandwich and went to pay. The asian clerk was rude, obnoxious and seemed inconvenienced that I had to walk up to her instead of the other clerk who was busy with another customer. so i told her its okay ill wait for the other clerk as I didnt wanna deal with more nonsense but she proceeded to get upset that she already got mentally ready for this transaction and that not doing it now was a bigger inconvenience. The two ladies who ring you up in front are very rude. Everytime I come into the store they always stare at me with a nasty look on their faces as if they are scowling at me, maybe I am too dark to be in their store? My last straw was when I picked up a lunch order, I stand in line like everyone else, I get ready to pay, and because I’m reaching into my bag to take my money, the lady who’s ringing ME up, cancels my order and decides to ring up the white man behind me, as if I was going to take an hour to pull out my wallet. This is a POORLY RUN & HIGHLY DISRESPECTFUL establishment. As a black woman I felt targeted and attacked in this store and after that day, I never went back to this place to eat. The food isn’t good either, no bathrooms and it’s not properly cleaned. The people who work here need to learn about racial discrimination laws and customer service. I will be reporting to the better business bureau, and I will never spend money and this racist establishment ever again. It’s a shocker that this happened to me in July of 2023....

Occasionally will go for breakfast. Have been doing the oatmeal becasue it's cheaper, decently healthy and I enjoy that they offer regular and with coconut milk. Imagine my surprise and disgust today when I saw both canisters filled from the same one from the kitchen, so much for one regular one coconut milk. The cashier initially refused to believe me, then said she would "talk to someone". What if someone has an allergy or sensitivity? What if someone is trying to stick to a diet? If you don't want to be bothered doing what you advertise, don't offer that option. This was not a special request that required them to go out of their way, its something the restaurant themselves offer. Shame on the sheer laziness and blatant disregard for customers. I can only imagine what else they're trying to pass off and get over on...
