... Answering Cotenna's comment.
I imagine that the company is suitable and even if it happened in it, it would still be an isolated conduct of an employee that has nothing to do with how the company does business. I also understand that making accusations without being confirmed by an investigation is not up to me. But there are some coincidences that led me to write this, which are:
debits were issued in the name of a company similar to Uber Eats, but smaller. Easy registration and difficult confirmation of the services provided;
In Brazil we practically do not use the credit card without using a chip and password. So this was the first time I handed in the card and it was passed by the magnetic stripe without the use of a password, and it was the first time I delivered it to the service provider;
The debts began 1 hour after my trip to the restaurant and lasted until the afternoon of the following day, when Mastercard blocked my card for safety when I saw the launches.
With the above text I do not intend to make the establishment or its staff guilty of a crime. I'm just writing to alert them that there may be some wrongdoing for some employee.
The amounts debited from my card alone would not make sense to be a blow. So if it really has to do with someone from the restaurant, other cases are expected to happen. If in the past and future not appear any case like mine, disregard my comments.
If you would like a copy of my credit card invoice, please send me an email that I will send. I will pass the same copy to the police on the report card.
I reinforce that I believe in the suitability of Cotenna. And I find the dishes delicious that they serve. I really hope that what happened to me was for using the card at another establishment. I was attended all the time by Brazilians and that was great until then.
Best regards. Thank you for the dinner and for the...
Read moreThis place baffles me how it once upon a time received a Michelin star! If this was based only on their food fair enough, but the service was appalling and especially the fact that they robbed me!
So, I had the pleasure to dine at your restaurant on my Birthday on Friday 11th August evening but I unfortunately lost a black wallet/card holder with my credit cards, I.D cards, cash (400 Euro) and an earring. I called on Saturday and Sunday since then and both times whoever answered the phone had very little understanding of what I was saying as they spoke little English, and said there was nothing found. Despite the odds, I called again 08.14.23 at 5.44 p.m. to inquire and luckily the lady who answered understood what I was asking for and confirmed that my wallet was found and confirmed there was cash in there too. HOWEVER, when I collected it at 9pm there was no cash nor my earrings but all the cards were there.
I asked the manager to investigate please who handed it in as I'm very DISAPPOINTED that this is the case for such a prominent and well-known restaurant. I doubt it was a customer that handed it in as we were the last customer on Friday and surely it was found the next day. Since then, for a so-called Michelin star restaurant, I've not heard back from them ever with no decent follow-up. I'm left to believe that a place like that tolerates dishonest unbothered customer service and holds their staff unaccountable. By that I rate the place mediocre and terrible customer. The venue was cramped, no personalized ambience beside riding -off loud restaurant chatters, waiting staff are a bit brash, pottery chipped and worn.
Th whole experience has just left a very very bitter taste...
Read moreSTAY AWAY. I have never had a more uncomfortable or unprofessional dining experience in my life. Upon arriving a few minutes late and without my whole party, the hostess waited to seat me, normal. But I was thrown off by how frightened she seemed that I made it to this reservation, which I had had for days and confirmed TWICE via text. While waiting for the rest of my party, I noticed the tables basically all touching and it being super cramped. Not a place for those who don’t mind eating on top of their neighbors. My other friend shortly arrived and I asked if we’d be able to be seated. The hostess said she’d get back to me and once again looked like something was wrong. A server came up to me and told me they had no space for us since we’re a few minutes late and told us WE COULD NO LONGER EAT THERE despite their being open tables left in the restaurant. They told us they’d take us to their restaurant across the street or around the corner that had identical menus. I had wanted to come here for a while and I asked to stay and they literally refused. The hostess walked us 2 minutes around the corner to a different restaurant. There was not one apology, a bit of sympathy, or a consolation for disregarding our reservation. The Cotenna staff was wildly unprofessional.
I will give credit to the Codino staff where we wound up dining that took care of us, but I had to fight to get a round of wine on the house for our troubles. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for years and I’ve never experienced anything like this. Especially for good food, but food that you can find at a lot of other places in lower Manhattan for the same price and...
