I was in bar on 18th Nov evening about 5.00PM for enjoy regular happy hours with one of my buddy. We are regular customers of your bar since 2013. We ordered same wine / beer & same food all d time , bcos something we like than we continue it for quick bite.
But last evening we had horrible experience with bartender , we order wine & order traditional buffalo chicken wings. We enjoying our wine , as soon as we got our food i was wondering why chicken wings looks different. I took 1 bite & it was not s buffalo wings but it was wings dip in barbecue sauce. So i call bartender & politely complaint about wings , she said we are cooking this was all d time. I said mam i am regular customer & this is not wings which i order, she took plate with chicken wings & talking to other customer said " do you want this bcos he doesn't like it ? he don't know what is chicken wings" .
I was shocked but still no argue, i thought she came back say sorry or i ask if I like order something else, but nothing. Wait for 10mins , nothing. I call a gentleman in tie , well dressed thought he is manager. Told him i would like order something else & would like to talk manager.
Ohh my god ,,, when i ask for manager, she said I am manger & you cut , you are not getting anything here , just get out. and i said is this language to behave with your customer, if you manger than just satisfied your customer or at least listing to them. Still she arguing said you done , not getting anything from here just leave. I didn't sought , not drunk , we were polite but she is crazy last evening, she was insulting me. I said give my check & i will leave from here. She said you don't have to pay anything just get out, i said this is my culture that i am not eating anything for free, give my check & i will pay for that, still she arguing. Another bartender came after few mins & gave my check. We paid & left some tips ...... Bocs again this is our culture & we are business people to come for enjoy drink with friends , business people, vendors .... and if she talk that way its not acceptable, she was totally insulting me in font of people.
She told my partner that she doesn't have any problem with him but she doesn't want to server me & my buddy told me right away let leave this place, this crazy women doesn't know what she talking about..... this is impression.......
We went next door for drink & food paid 120$,,, you loose those money , you loose valuable customers , you loose future business from me, my vendors , my business people......
I am not asking for sorry now.......Don't keep this...
Read moreI'm not going to say much new here, just reiterate how absolutely AWESOME this place is.
First things first, the service and helpfulness of everyone who works there is SUPERB. i leave Sorriso's every time with a big smile on my face. They really couldn't be helpful enough, whether it's offering their recommendations or free samples. They will take the time to find you what you're looking for. It's service so above and beyond, and something you rarely encounter these days.
Now, the food. I love everything I have ever had here. The soppressata is godly. Their sandwiches are to die for. I'm particularly fond of their meatball subs, with homemade meatballs, sauce and two big slabs of fresh mozzarella. They have a wonderful cheese selection both hard and soft. I would highly recommend their chicken sausages, also homemade, they are absolutely to die for and fresh tasting. I got also got a steak once to grill and it was the second best steak I've ever had in my entire life.
I will say this, the day I move away from Astoria, I think I will be most sad about leaving this place. Keep up the great work Sorriso's! And Yelpers, you really owe it to yourself to check this place out,...
Read moreWhat a shame there isn't a zero star option.....my partner and I would recommend reading this and all the other low ratings to really get an idea of what this establishment and its staff are like and would do well to steer well clear of it to avoid a disappointing experience. Sat at the bar for a drink.....after being served, I made a video call on my phone which i immediately adjusted the volume on connection when I realised it was too loud and continued my conversation. Seconds after, the bar woman (tall, slim, blonde, middle aged) requested I lower the volume....I apologised, turned it down again and continued my conversation. Again, within seconds, the same woman ramped up the music in the bar and asked again that I turn the volume down on my phone, giving the excuse that shes had two complaints in that short space of time. We found this very rude and abrupt. We pointed out that the conversation I was having on my phone was no different to the conversations other people were having inside the bar. We promptly requested the bill, drank up and left without leaving a tip......terrible service and experience. Go somewhere else...there are plenty of other...
