Iโ€™ve been going here for years since itโ€™s close to my job. Recently, a new worker started showing up. Iโ€™m not sure if she is a new hire or someone who is related to the owner, but the woman with the glasses and the short black hair is a horrible person. Sheโ€™s rude and usually has a terrible attitude. She wonโ€™t bag the food and last time I came here I had a coffee and a Thai iced tea. When I asked for a bag for the drinks (because of course she didnโ€™t give me a bag for any of it), she gave me a nasty stare and handed me a plastic bag. I told her I need a paper bag for the coffee and iced tea and with even more attitude she handed me the paper bag. Iโ€™m not asking for someone to be overly nice, just donโ€™t be rude or just in general nasty to customers. A lot of my coworkers have also complained about this same person. Itโ€™s unfortunate because I actually really liked this place and the other members of the staff, but Iโ€™m not gonna keep going there and letting her ruin my day when I can just get my bagel and coffee next door. Iโ€™ll become a customer again when they...

David's Bagels is near the top of my list (To which I don't have a clear winner at the moment) when it comes to NYC bagels, and I am lucky to be in the area enough to get a taste every now and again. When you walk in you get the feeling that quality bagels have been churned out for a long time, and the ordering process is enjoyable, as everyone is very friendly. The bagels are spot on in both texture and consistency. I have always been pleased with my everything bagel with cream cheese, and whether I'm going to eat at the nearby park or just sit inside and watch the 1st avenue pedestrian traffic, I'm always met with a satisfied appetite.

2018 Update: Just had one of the best bagels in recent memory that was super fresh, well done on the outside, and airy light and chewy on the inside. Just a testament to the fact that you shouldn't judge a place solely on one bagel whether it is...

Tasty bagels. We stopped by on a Friday morning around 10:30 and had to wait for 10-15 minutes to place our order and then get our food.

We ordered four bagels - one everything, one salt, one egg, and one plain - all with the garlic chive cream cheese. We had them toasted.

The bagels were great- crunchy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. The crunchy outside did tear up the roof of our mouths a little bit, but it was worth it. The bagels themselves were pretty big in size plus generous spread of cream cheese made them very filling. My wife couldnโ€™t finish hers.

The cream cheese was very very garlic forward, like spicy, so if you donโ€™t enjoy garlic or donโ€™t have some gum to chew afterwards maybe steer clear of the garlic chive cream cheese, but personally I liked the flavor.

A good bang for buck at just about $20 for the four bagels with cream...

Bagel was good, but sadly thatโ€™s where it ended. Got the italian sub, and for a $14 sandwich, expected it to be more than mostly bread. Paid extra for lettuce, tomato and onion which was extremely sparse. The layer of meat was incredibly thin throughout (hard to even spot amongst the bread), and not a hint of oil or vinegar, which was listed. Unfortunately my partner and I each got one thinking itโ€™d be safe to go with an italian sub. Do yourself a favor and stick with the bagels it seems. Would have been cheaper and more filling to buy ingredients and make my own sandwich!

David's bagels is a neighborhood staple. Hands down best whole wheat everything bagel. I go out of my way every morning, walking past both Blackseed and Tompkins Square Bagels to get my hands on a nice toasty, buttery bagel and Thai ice tea. Staff is so nice and friendly, and you can tell this place is kept open by regulars. Also very affordable, from bagels to soups to drinks. When you walk in, you order in the back, then move down to cashier.

Have you ever had a Flagel ? David's Bagels offer flat bagels to order. It started somewheres in New York City in the 90s. Someone decided to flatten the bagel before it was boiled and place in the oven. To us the flagel is much more chewy in the inside then the regular bagel and more cripsy on the outside too!
