I recently stopped by this place because I was in a rush to grab lunch, and I’ve always loved healthy food. This spot has a lot of good reviews, and a coworker recommended it to me, so I was excited to try it.
I honestly think the place has good potential. it’s healthy food, which I appreciate but I’m not sure what happened that day. The food was surprisingly salty, including the sweet potato , which caught me off guard. For a place that focuses on clean, healthy eating, I wasn’t expecting that level of saltiness.
The experience also felt a bit disorganized. Since it was my first time there, I didn’t really know how the ordering process worked, and no one explained what came with the meal. I even had to ask at the end if it came with sauce, and that’s when they gave it to me but I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
Another thing I noticed was the portion size it was quite small for the price. There are other spots in the area that offer more generous portions for a similar or even better value, without compromising on taste.
Maybe they were just busy that day, and I understand things happen. They do have some good options, and I think with a little more attention to communication and customer guidance especially for firsttime visitors ,it could be a great spot for healthy meals.
I’m willing to give it another try in the future, but I hope they work on the flavor balance, portion sizes ,prices , and overall customer experience. A little more clarity and friendliness during the ordering process would...
Read moreThis is a casual atmosphere. Prior to becoming a regular, I thought the food was OK. We would order for church meetings, & the things we ordered were OK. They wanted to cater a special event, using Dig. For the presentation (multiple small biodegradable packaging), I was not a fan. Then I switched to a whole food plant based diet. While the program I’m on says no oil, sugar, for the one time a week, I’m in the office, I get a whole foods plate, that is so nourishing, it is my splurge meal, & I don’t miss the meat. The mint in the tomato cucumber salad is fantastic, & I could eat the cashew kale salad ever day. I wish that they used less oil, but my regular order is cashew kale salad, tomatoes & cucumber salad, white bean salad, lemon herb farro & either cauliflower or broccoli. I tried the tofu 👍🏼👍🏼. If this was near my home, I’d probably go there 3 times a week. Hope they open an installation in Astoria (Ditmars/31st St), Steinway, + one near Gantry Park/LIC Queens, as well as Queens Boro Plaza, which is under major redistricting/renovation. All of these areas are near public transportation, shopping areas, &/or have a Trader Joes near by. I can’t wait to come here to have whole foods nutritious meal, I didn’t...
Read moreWas recommended DIG by a friend and decided for this branch due to a good google rating (4,4 @Nov '23).
The Bowls seemed good at first. The chicken however probably had not been cooked long enough. It tasted weird and the consistency was off. This ruined the whole dish since I was worrying more about food poisoning than I could enjoy the rest of the bowl. Of all the ingredients only the broccoli tasted good. Just 15 minutes after leaving the restaurant both me and my wife got stomach aches.
The whole seating area, our table and the toilet were dirty. We had to clean the table ourselves before we could eat. The bins upstairs were both completely overloaded and probably not emptied once during the whole day
Interacting with the employees was ok, but they either didnt care about the cleanliness of the restaurant and checking the quality of their food or were understaffed.
The result of this visit is a sick feeling when...
