cash only
small Mexican kitchen serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner via takeout and delivery in the East Village. it’s a small spot. i don’t think there is indoor dining in effect yet. it’s a home cooking kind of spot, not fancy, but satisfying when you want wallet-friendly eats to fill your stomach. the menu consists of Mexican-centric eats like tacos, burritos, tortas, tamales, enchiladas, and more! it’s a perfect place for eats that won’t leave you with hunger pangs.
recently i was fiending for a meatless option and ordered a rice and beans burrito—a warm tortilla filled with Mexican rice, retried beans, cheese, sour cream, and hot sauce. it’s an ample serving and totally filling. the burrito was flavorful and savory—only $8. the menu is very much about comfort food at a value. it’s perfect for when you’re too lazy to cook, need to eat your feelings, or want to stay in and gorge on food with friends and family.
the service is friendly. “hello” and “thank you” go a long way. supporting a local biz never...

I ran to the pharmacy next door to grab cash and came back to a huge, ready-to-go burrito. It's quick, but not suspiciously so. The taste was great! Ingredients are appropriately balanced - lots of chicken, not overstuffed with rice, and the chipotle sauce poured over top was hot and flavorful. Honestly, a really well done...
Read moreThere wasn't anything actually wrong with my carne enchilada torta. But when I took a bit, it didn't all fuse together into one awesome taste like some of my favorite places do.
Maybe it was the bread. Call me traditional, but I like a round, not so crusty, definitely soft piece of bread. Not long like a hero, not with sesame seeds. The meat was simply okay, and cheese and beans didn't do their job at bringing it all together.
It's very possible I'm being nitpickey here. The place was decent. But in a town like New York where there are more good Mexican options than people give it credit for, I'd recommend trying something else...
