My mom died unexpectedly after it looked like she was starting to win her battle with lung cancer. In my shock and grief, I felt numb to the things that used to make me happy. In an attempt to feel something as I packed up my life in NYC to leave behind the only home I ever loved, I took a walk in my mom's favorite neighborhood, and stumbled upon ENLY. Some of my happiest times with my mom were shared over coffee, so in spite of myself, I decided to wait in the extremely long line, and try the Tiramisu Latté. The immediate warmth and effortlessly chic Haute New York vibe of Enly's shop transported me to a time when life was simple and happy, when my career in Film was just beginning and I loved everything about working in New York. And my first sip of her transcendent Tiramisu Latté, made me believe for the first time in what felt like forever, that life can actually be good again. My first stop when I come back to NYC in the fall, is going to be ENLY's. I can't wait to see what flavors she comes up with for the changing season! My best friend is obsessed with her summer Strawberry Fields Matcha Latté, and every person I've told about the Tiramisu Latté who has tried it, has said that there's nothing else like it - I highly recommend getting it iced for the best flavor profile + consistency. Thank you ENLY for your heart, kindness, and the delectable deliciousness that is actual happiness in a cup!...
Read moreI ordered 4 drinks and asked about the topping that I was charged an extra 4 dollars for :the banana matcha and was meet with rudeness and confussion, I wasnât rude. But the one girl who arrived later was rude, not the one that made my drinks. She was just confused, got flustered because they became busy. The Second Lady whom arrived later was very rude. No matter what I was asking she commented and rudely, I said please donât speak to me that way, Iâm meeting you with kindness, she then said how can I fix this I then stated I just want the whip or foam that was paid for she then started arguing again saying will be $4, the $4 is on the receipt, as well as the picture having foam on it. But at that point it seemed mute! I shouldâve left the drinks there but they went into the trash couldnât even drink them. Iâm expecting a refund on all of these drinks, I was very disappointed, especially with the behavior because the reviews were very good and the drinks looked amazing. The location and atmosphere was beautiful. My drink was Burnt sugar cinnamon and it had something I was allergic too in it the other was tiramisu and nothing like the picture no flavor. The matcha they didnât put whip but charged for whip and bananas tasted bad. I had to go to Starbucks reserve and get the drinks I was expecting. With the tip...
Read moreI never write reviews, especially like this, but I honestly couldnât stay quiet. Great branding and social media, but easily the worst coffee Iâve had in NYC in the past 3 years. At this point, itâs not hard to find excellent specialty coffee on almost every cornerâwhat matters is integrity.
I originally wanted to try their matcha banana latte, but after watching how they prepared the matcha for the person before me, I lost all confidence (I shouldâve walked out then). I asked about their signature drinksâlavender, banana, etc.âbut was told theyâre all made with syrups. Not what I want in coffee.
I settled for an oat latte. It was awful. Coffee quality was bad, and the ratio? Like drinking a whole pack of Oatly straight up. I threw it away as soon as soon as I walked out.
What I donât get is how they justify these pricesâ$11.50 + tax for a tiramisu coffee? The space is small and aesthetically nice, but service was cold and uninviting. Just a âwhat do you want?â and a vibe like they didnât want to be there.
Please support businessesâsmall or bigâthat actually care about what they serve. This felt like someone chasing trends, not someone who loves...
