What a find! EVERYTHING about Ferdi is fantastic. The ambiance is soft, subtle, and soothing - not too little, not too much....just a perfect setting. The food is some of the best we have tasted in NYC (and we are snobby foodies). Each dish we had was cooked to perfection with sumptuous sauces, perfect seasoning, and flavors that never stopped complementing each other. The dessert was exquisite and the cocktails made with perfection. Meeting the chef (Fernando) and his sister (Aida) who own the restaurant was a special treat. They are two incredibly personable and delightful individuals who truly strive to ensure their guests have a memorable evening....and they more than succeed at that goal. Finally, William, our server was the most warm, charming, and attentive individual. He completed the perfect trio to the brother and sister run establishment. From the minute we walked into the door (very early before our reservation) we were greeted with William's welcoming smile and inquiry if we were celebrating a special occasion...and we were - my partner's birthday. With that knowledge, William treated my partner like a rock star starting with a complimentary flute of bubbly to begin our evening and ending with a sparkler accompanied dessert (and a subtle, classy, happy birthday wish minus the singing that you would get at an establishment with less subtle elegance). Fernando even offered us a complimentary drink to celebrate our special event. But, beside the special treatment given by the owners and the server (which, by the way, I saw given to every party in the restaurant), the food is outstanding! Ferdi's is a MUST VISIT restaurant that will not disappoint but rather exceed your expectation of culinary excellence! Thank you to Fernando, Aida, and William! We will see you again, soon!...
Read moreCame here last Sunday with my dear friend for brunch, and we stayed for dinner.😆 Very hard to leave this place. Too good! I wish I could rate it 10 stars, cause 5 don’t seem like enough for this absolutely amazing family-owned new Italian restaurant in West village.
You will feel like home from the moment you walk into Ferdi. And you will feel like you want to stay here for quite some time, cause everything else can definitely wait!
Ferdi’s got such a great ambience, such a beautiful decor.. If you like art, super delicious drinks (and they’ve got some wonderful wine selection as well), really amazing and very friendly people whom you think you’ve know for so long, great music, and, most importantly, such a delicious REAL ITALIAN CUISINE🇮🇹 - look no further! This is the place. Come and try it.
I gotta warn you though: it’s a bit hard to decide on what are you having today, cause there are way too many great options (and we talk about some really great stuff). I wanted to order…just everything on the menu!😆🙈 And this was my third time there.
I’ve definitely never had a better Penne allá Russa than the one I’ve got here. The sauce…Out of this world! And I never cared much for the vodka sauce..(sadly, I didn’t take pic of the pasta - I really didn’t expect that it was going to be that amazing).
We also had the Choppino (mussels, clams, shrimp sautéed in white wine with garlic), the Finnochio salad, Polpo Allá Griglia and La bomba for dessert. Everything was so yummy! And Aperol Spritzes were very tasty and super refreshing.
Definitely will be coming back here again soon!
Shout-out to wonderful Aida, Will, Alexandra, Fernando and all other amazing Ferdi team members who are making your every visit there such an experience....
Read moreFerdi was hands down the perfect spot for our celebration in New York—everything we could have hoped for and more! Aida, who helped us every step of the way, was truly amazing to work with. She offered us a very reasonable price to buy out the restaurant for a lunchtime event, and even let us arrive early to set up and decorate. The flexibility and warmth she offered made everything feel so personal.
The menu at Ferdi was incredibly accommodating for every diet—whether carnivore or herbivore, everyone left happy and full. Our vegetarian family members especially appreciated the delicious meatless and eggless pasta options. Each dish was served with generous portions and spaced out perfectly, allowing us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. And let’s talk about the drinks—wine, cocktails, coffee, limoncello—you name it, it was flowing freely throughout the event.
Aida’s help went above and beyond. She was like our unofficial wedding planner, stepping in to help with everything from decor setup to saving the day when a few dresses needed a little stain removal magic. The whole Ferdi team went all out to make sure our event was flawless and our guests were well taken care of. They even helped us store our decor until the next day, which was an extra thoughtful touch.
The family-style atmosphere at Ferdi made the event feel so warm and welcoming. And to this day, guests are still raving about the eggplant rollatini. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I can’t recommend Ferdi and Aida enough for any special occasion. If you’re looking for a place where everything goes smoothly, with amazing food, drinks, and...
