For a fast food burger place, Five Guys is very good. Those who are giving it a negative review, should point the finger at themselves for expecting a Michelin experience. Five Guys should be in the same category as McDonalds but with better food… so please judge it as that. I got my meal to-go after a marathon 🏃♂️ and needed the high calories 😀. Food always hits the spot if you need something more indulgent. The burgers 🍔 though they don’t mention it are DOUBLE PATTIES and that is a standard. So if you’re ordering a cheeseburger, it will have two paddies with cheese so that’s a nice touch that makes Five Guys different. The burgers also come with unlimited toppings including sautéed onions and mushrooms. Every bite packs a punch. It’s a lot of meat in one bite if you’re into that 👌🏼. The burger hits the spot and is superior to a Big Mac or a Whopper. The fries 🍟 they put in a tall cup in a bag and put extra fries to overflow on purpose, I’ve been there several times and I think that is the norm which is also a nice touch. Overall my meal was great. It is delicious, indulgent, and feels like a high calorie meal so be warned 🥸. Now here’s my tip. Dine there if possible. Burgers and fries that are made to order that are high calorie and cooked with a lot of oil… never travels well. The burgers they wrap in foil which is great at retaining heat but horrible as it makes bread and other things floppy, wet and soggy. The fries will also become quickly soggy in the bag. So if you want it to taste even better, eat it fresh without one millisecond to spare. Overall though, for what it is, this place is great. It is a SOLID fast-food burger...
Read moreA black woman who seems to be a manager is a racist. I was traveling with a friend and went here for dinner. It was our first time to visit here. We are Asian but not from the States. We’re not good at English, but tried to order the meal. Then the woman SIGHED and ROLLED HER EYES, snapping the menu hanging above her with FRUSTRATION. It took a very LONG time for the food to come out and she didn't give me a cola cup. I tried to take the cup on my own. Then she PUSHED MY HAND not to touch it and eventually handed me “exactly the same cup” I picked up. At first, I thought the reason why she acted like that was because I was not good at English. But afterwards, seeing her reaction to non-Asian guests, I was convinced that this was a racial discrimination. It was an unpleasant experience! I know there are a lot of anti-racism protests in the United States. But you know what? The States pretends to be “VERY EQUAL”, but Asian always leave out of the discussion. As you can see, racism is openly...
Read moreI recently had a painful medical procedure to address a painful condition, which involved a painful recovery. Quite the hat-trick.
So I decided to treat myself with a 5 Guys burger and fries. I haven't eaten from there in a few years, due to dietary reasons. I recalled the last time I went, the french fries were very crispy and overflowed the cup they were served in and half filled up the bag. Not this time. The cup was barely half full and the fries were greasy and mushy. Inedible. The burger wasn't much better. Sparse toppings that seemed were one step away from being thrown out.
With delivery fees and whatever else they could gouge me for, that culinary disaster was the icing on top of what was already a horrible day. It set me back $38. For a half order of mushy, greasy fries and a so-so burger with toppings of extremely questionable freshness.
Needless to say I'll steer clear of 5 Guys for my next...
