I went on August 29th as a solo/celebration date after picking up my diploma from college. I went back with my mom on September 27, almost a month later, because I couldn't stop thinking about the freshly made scones, marscapone, and jam. We went for afternoon tea. I have yet to try any other item on the menu. The afternoon tea is everything for me.
Both times, the service was top-tier, and while the staff was young, everyone greeted and cared for us. The staff seemed to be enjoying themselves at work—they were very attentive when we walked in. I was greeted with smiles and welcomed both times, and could be seated immediately.
At both times, the waitresses explained the menu, answered all relevant questions, and gave suggestions. (I always welcome this; it tells me they know their menu.) The place was busy today, so the waitress told us what was available. The plain scones ran out, and they provided us with blueberry scones (excellent) at no additional cost. The best part was that they were making fresh plain scones, and they gave me a free one, and I ordered a second one for my mom.
I enjoyed the blueberry scones, but my heart is stuck on the plain scones with the sugar on top. They're so light and just omg. 😍😍
Ambiance - i love where the restaurant is - Forest Hill - English Tutor style homes, cobblestones across from the Forest Hill Station. I never felt rushed either time I was there. I love the decor and the light music. I also love the tea sets and cutlery.
Food- 10 out of 10 both times. First time i went, i did the afternoon tea for one. I finished everything, savored everything. Second time - obviously we did the afternoon tea for 2- i think it was enough food for two people, but again you can order more food. Next time i come, I'm doing the afternoon tea for 3 (lol), same thing, but seeing my mom enjoy it, savoring, slowing down and relaxing was the highlight of my day. She's very picky and loved everything - she was so happy.
Idk, I can keep writing more - I know I'm biased. I won't try the other Price Tea Houses because I found the Golden One.
If the managers of Forest Hill want to open a Prince Tea House in Riverhead, Long Island, I would be so happy. It would make a killing. Just make sure it's the same homemade style and vibe as...

Food: Takoyaki $8.25, Smoke Salmon Salad $9 Dessert: Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crepes Cake $9.75, Molten Lava Cake $9 Drink: Lavender Green Milk Tea $8.5, Mango Black Tea $8 Under current pandemic, you can't find a better Brunch/Dessert spot for take out than Prince Tea House! Not to mention this is a new location that just Opened in Forest Hills. Today i got to experience the soft Opening. With Strict Safety Measure of 6 Feet Distance and Temperatures are check before entering the Build for Restrooms.
My Girlfriend and I ordered Smoke Salmon Salad and it was great i dont think you could go wrong with salad. The salad was fresh and crispy with a few slices of Smoke Salmon perfect! Takoyaki has enough octopus inside but can add some extra Mayo and seaweed to top it off for a perfect Taste that's just my preference on Takoyaki.
As for the Lavender Green Milk Tea. The Lavender wasn't too strong that over powers the Tea which is good on my taste preference. On the other hand if you prefer a lighter tea with a touch of Fruit then i would recommend the Mango Black Tea. It isnt too sweet which you can add sugar to your own preference of sweetness.
Now comes to the best part the desserts!if your a Dessert Foodie like me you would enjoy this part. i got to try first hand and also the first time Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crepes cake. If your a Boba fan definitely need to try this one is a must. This cake has a semi caramelized sugar on the top layer which is a nice touch with Salted cream foam to drizzle on top with Boba. This was the highlight of my night to try this spectacular dessert.
Molten Lava Cake was good but the chocolate could be more melted in the inside and cake could be a bit moist to make it great. Again that's just my preference on certain Desserts.
Overall My experience was Great! i would definitely come back here again and recommend to anyone that wants dessert and nice spot for brunch.
Feel free to try them out! Happy...
Read moreWent there today at around 2, service was great and so was the food and tea. Ordered a Smoked Salmon Salad that came with a rather fruity dressing and the pairing was great! Also ordered a Chicken Katsu sandwich, and to my surprise that was also well. I normally stray away from trying foods from new places because I am always disappointed because I set my expectations too high, but this exceeded my expectations! I had two orders of a Hot Fruity Tea, and never in my life have I tasted something so pleasant. For dessert, ordered a Boba Crepe Cake slice and the elements of it were delicious. Tasted more of salted caramel, but I'm not complaining! I for sure will be back and will tell my friends about this new gem. Overall great first experience and I hope to see this business thrive! (5 STARS!)
Edit: Went there a second time. Portions were way smaller but were priced the same. Server/Waitress took extremely long after ordering. I understand that the place was busy, but waitress had very little experience. Tea was great as usual, side salads that came with sandwiches were NON-EXISTENT compared to my visit last time. Last time I received a decently sized salad and today for the three sandwiches my party and I ordered, the "salad" was a mere 5 leaves topped with half of a cherry tomato and a slice of radish. Waitress forgot part of my order and I needed to remind her several times that I had been waiting. Took forever for me to receive my check and forever for her to take my card so that I can pay. Indoor decor made the experience more enjoyable. I hope when I visit next time, the place won't be as disorganized and as hectic as it was...
