To start, this was the BEST MEAL we've ever had, EVER!!! We've been all over the world and have gone to top places in many countries, including New York of course, but never has there been so many top of the list elements in one meal. From being escorted to our seats at the bar (like Joel Robuchon in Paris still and New York's past, but more engaging at Frevo) and looking into the small and intimate open kitchen to our departure with copies of the menu and wine pairings, the meal was more than food and wine; it truly was an experience of the senses in ways that were obvious as well as subtle. The service personnel were all extraordinary: from the bus person picking up the used dishes to the owner/executive chef, Franco Sampogna who stopped by to share a few thoughts, each individual shared a sense of warmth and commitment, without any airs, and were at all times personable, communicative, informative and most of all, were able to look you in the eye and make contact, an aspect of service that is not readily taught. There was a true sense of interaction with real people, especially our sommelier Carolyn, who gave a description of each of the unique wines that accompanied each course. (I have to add that we chose the regular wine pairing rather than the premium wine pairing; again, each of the choices were superb and went beautifully with each course. The premium wine pairing may have stepped it up a notch, but I can assure you that the regular pairing was outstanding.) The food reflected a unique spin on each course. The progression of courses, starting with what can best be described as the most incredible piece of sushi we've ever had to the salted caramel chocolates following a shredded three year aged Comte under ice cream drizzled with honey followed by a take on chocolate involving wasabi and porcini were all just over-the-top. Without citing each dish specifically, having courses involving lobster, wood ear, amberjack, scallop, and wagyu along with several other beautifully presented selections, the meal, as I noted to start this review, was the best we've ever had! I would be remiss if I didn't add that the plating and dishes used for each course complemented the food as well as the presentation, and the glassware's simplicity and elegance did the same for each of the wine servings. Clearly, Frevo is not your everyday restaurant. It is, however, an incredibly immersing experience that satisfies the senses in many ways beyond just food and wine. The outstanding menu selections coupled with atmosphere, presentation and service make it a unique experience that reminds me of what it was like to dine at Lutece or Le Cirque in their heyday, but without the stuffy formality and with an even greater focus on...

Dear [Restaurant Name],
I hope this message finds you well. I recently had the pleasure of visiting your establishment and was thoroughly impressed by the ambiance, cuisine, and impeccable service. However, I couldn't help but notice one missing element that could significantly enhance the overall dining experience for your patrons - a reserve table option on your website.
In today's digital age, convenience is key, especially when it comes to dining out. Many customers prefer the ease of booking a table online rather than making a phone call or simply walking in and hoping for availability. By implementing a reserve table option on your website, you can streamline the booking process for your guests and ensure a seamless dining experience from start to finish.
Here are a few compelling reasons why I believe incorporating a reserve table feature into your website is essential:
Customer Convenience: Offering online reservations allows your guests to book a table at their convenience, anytime and anywhere, without the need to wait for business hours or navigate through busy phone lines.
Increased Booking Accuracy: By capturing reservation details directly through your website, you can minimize errors and ensure accurate booking information, reducing the risk of overbooking or missed reservations.
Enhanced Customer Satisfaction: Providing a user-friendly reservation platform demonstrates your commitment to customer satisfaction and convenience, resulting in positive feedback and repeat business.
Competitive Advantage: Many of your competitors likely offer online reservation options, and by not having this feature, you may be missing out on potential diners who prefer the convenience of online booking.
As someone with expertise in web development and digital marketing, I am confident that I can help you seamlessly integrate a reserve table option into your website. With my experience in creating user-friendly interfaces and optimizing online booking systems, I can ensure that the process is efficient, intuitive, and aligns with your brand's identity.
I am eager to discuss this opportunity further and explore how I can assist you in enhancing your online presence and improving the overall customer experience. Please let me know a convenient time for us to connect and discuss this in more detail.
Thank you for considering my proposal. I look forward to the possibility of collaborating with you to bring this valuable feature to your esteemed restaurant.

Read moreThis was one of the easiest 5-star reviews that I've had to write, and I'd like to think that I'm (at least somewhat) selective with where I hand out 5-stars too, especially for fine dining.
Frevo easily gets 5 stars from me, across incredible food quality, remarkably friendly service, and its unique atmosphere.
From the first plate, I knew I was in for a treat. The brulee'd nori encompassing high quality ingredients was so innovative and stood out to me as one of the highlights from a creative culinary standpoint. Another favorite was the truffle honey ice cream over cheese; I do not recall ever tasting and smelling the fragrant truffles in a cold manner before this. Every time I had truffles was in a pasta or warm dish. This was exciting and I appreciate the new sensation.
The wine pairing was lovely and while I wasn't familiar with all the varietals nor the regions, the team gave great explanations to fill me in on all the details. I was pleasantly surprised by how much of a difference the mushroom infused wine glass enhanced the flavor. My only suggestion for Frevo would be to let the wine glass sit and soak in the mushroom aroma before immediately serving the wine in it, as opposed to letting the glass air out a bit. The aroma added an umami-like characteristic to the wine, which went with the meat dishes perfectly.
Of course, how could I review Frevo and not touch on the art?! The reason I became enchanted with Frevo in the first place was its use of art to enhance the culinary experience. I love the concept of a speakeasy restaurant behind an art gallery; this is so tastefully done in comparison to other speakeasy restaurants I've been to. I appreciate how they change the art and commission pieces just for the gallery and season. The art added a unique touch to my time at Frevo, and is one of the reasons I think it is worth the experience.
Overall, Frevo crushed it. The food had many creative ways to eat quality ingredients. The dishware complimented the dishes nicely and added an artistic touch to each flavor. The service was immaculate, the wine was well paired, and the art was divine.
5/5 would absolutely recommend. This is my favorite fine dining...
