I can’t speak to the food as this is about an order from their website. I’ve ordered before and fulfillment took a while but there were regular updates about it. I didn’t mind because I understand it’s a small business, there were a lot of orders at once and they were just starting up with online orders.

It’s been a couple of years since then and my favorite coffee drinker loves their coffee. So we ordered some. It’s been a month and the Shop Pay app shows the order hasn’t shipped and we’ve had no word about our order being delayed. I’ve emailed (it’s been 10 days since my first email) and aside from an automated response that someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours I’ve had no response.

Since then I’ve tried Facebook messenger, Instagram, the website contact box, Shop Pay contact request and today I tried to call the phone number listed on Google for the cafe. Shopify says I can’t get a refund without the shop’s approval. No idea what to do when the shop won’t respond.

I’m really disappointed as I want to support this business and I have recommended it to my loved ones in the past.

Update: After opening a dispute they finally created a shipping label and 4 days after that sent my order and sent me an email with tracking (after over 7 weeks). I wish I hadn’t had to go so far to get a response. The products are good but I don’t know that I’d want to risk...

So I was walking in the DMV and came across this cafe, I had stumbled across their IG a few years back when they first opened and I believe were actually selling sticks in the cafe (bummed I missed out on that). I got excited when I saw the cafe and went right in (after getting ice cream from mr softee!)The best ginger ever. I drink a lot of ginger, like a lot. I have tried it from many of the African restaurants in Harlem. I’ve also tried most of the commercial brands sold in African and Caribbean markets- I am Sierra Leonean with Guinean roots so I also make it when I get desperate a lot and drink it at almost every family function or Sierra Leonean event. I will say that this ginger is better than mine, and the best that I have had from a cafe/restaurant. I love the fact that it’s not too sweet, you can tell it’s fresh because it does not have a ton of sediment on the bottom. I love the fact that calories and ingredients are clearly helped so you know what’s going in your body, important to me also. I got one for my sister and sister in law and they Immediately wanted more.

About the cafe, nice, airy, and good vibes. Greeted by a bright eyed friendly African woman (this is important to me! I love seeing representation in all parts of a business). Please open a shop...

Today was my first time at Ginjan Cafe. It’s one of my favorite cafes I have ever been to. Why? Because it has real soul. Lots of coffee shops serve the same stuff to the same mindless, frenzied crowd. At Ginjan, everyone seems to have made it their own spot. And that’s what makes it special. That and the delicious drinks I had never tried like the bissap juice and the steam ginger drink (with a delicious notes of vanilla). I also loved their veggie bowl (rice and beans were out of this world) and the homemade hot sauce. Super spicy and flavorful— hope they package it for sale soon because I’d love to have it at home too. The Moroccan mint tea was also delicious, and a great drink for after a hearty meal. I’ve never been to a cafe that was dedicated to African culture— and their commitment to sharing it is evident not only in their menus and flavors, but also in the ambience, decor, and music of the space. It’s an immersive experience that I recommend to anyone who enjoys discovering new and delicious drinks, as well as the old familiar glow of...

I really enjoyed the espresso and the atmosphere of the cafe was very pleasant. My only issue here was when I was quietly sitting and slowly drinking, I felt somebody was standing on top of me “rushing” me to finish. I understand service where you must pick up after someone that might leave a mess, however I wasn’t finished. I was prepared to order something else yet the woman, who was respectfully just doing her job (I don’t know if she was the owner or just worked there) could’ve just allowed me to enjoy my stay. I seen other customers in there at the table quietly working (some didn’t even have a drink or food!) and she didn’t go over to them or stand over them. All I’m looking for is a nice coffee shop near my new place. I’m a loyal customer and am willing to come daily. I really didn’t appreciate how I felt in that moment so I just quietly packed up, finished my little espresso and left. If you’re already a customer there I guess this doesn’t apply to you. My apologies if this comes off rude in anyway as well. I’ll try again some other time maybe. Peace.
