Me and my friend work up the block and come here about once a week. im not sure why there is never anyone at the register and we had to wait for and wave someone over to us...he walked up with an annoyed look.. I ordered my usual order cheese fries and a shack burger and paid...my friend started his order and in the middle the person who identified themselves as the general manager asked my friend what was in their bag....a weird question from a cashier...my friend said it was a sandwich and the person told them that we can not dine there...my friend told them we work up the block and come in at least once a week and they were ordering food!!!!! this person told us that he can not sit down and dine because he came in with a bag with food in it...I asked the person if they were sure and that told them that we are regulars...he said it was out of his hands...HE WAS SUPPOSEDLY THE MANAGER....I dont get how its out of his hands...he stated we can not sit and dine since we came in with a sandwich...I DONT GET HOW HE AS A MANAGER THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD DECISION TO TURN DOWN LIKE 35 DOLLARS WORTH OF BUSINESS...especially when the place was essentially empty its not like people were waiting for tables...I THINK HE WAS ANNOYED THAT HE HAD TO RING US UP AND REACTED BY TELLING US THAT WE COULD NOT STAY AND EAT....if anyone wants to contact me or wants a copy of my receipt or REFUND receipt let me know...I JUST DONT UNDERTAND HOW HE IS A MANAGER AND STARTS QUESTIONING US and tells us we cant sit down before we actually break any rules...it was weird and I dont think I want to come here ever again...POLLO CAMPERO IS UP THE BLOCK...harlem shake is around the corner...I dont get how someone would make this person a manager and they send money out the door after it was already paid for....HE SHOULDN'T BE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE....he turned regulars away and we prob won't ever come back...GREAT MANAGER!!!! my refund transaction # is ...
Read moreThe food has never wavered; absolutely love coming here for it. This location knocks it's competitor HarlemShake out the park with flavors and options (tho I wish sweet potato fries were offered) but unfortunately the passive attitude regarding the homeless that frequent the area is nerving. I have patroned this location multiple times and have been witness to homeless individuals using the bathroom & even a homeless woman having the privilege to CHANGE her clothes in the dining space (employee just walked right past her like 'this is what she does'. Her bags were on the dining table and she was given the bathroom code (not by a customer) by a employee. Unacceptable! Even if a homeless person is offered food by a patron, it should be enforced that they wait outside due to health and sanitary concerns. That back eating area has to be better monitored! It's understood that the corporation can not discriminate but I'm sure some productive solution can be obtained by the management team. The unfortunate circumstances of the issues surrounding the neighborhood don't impact my review..make it clear..it is the location's lackadaisical approach and enforcement of that give me cause for pause.
Pros: the employees wear their safety hair protection and try their best to keep their uniforms clean. A smile isn't always needed or me but courtesy is delivered and...
Read moreWhy do I love the place, let me count the reasons. After being a regular (due to Postmates delivery) the staff and I have gotten to know each other. On the whole, the majority of the staff are super friendly and seem to be in a good mood and actually enjoy working there. It's not like a McDonald's or Wendy's or burger King where you can see the look of desperation and not wanting to be there on the workers faces.
Often times in establishments such as these the workers often display attitudes, are rude, and lack baseline customer service skills (I'm referring to you McDonald's on W125th).
The opposite is true with Shake Shack staff. Out of the 137 times I have visited this location I have yet had a negative experience.
The food if obviously very good. It's moderately priced and prepared fresh in front of your eyes. The dining area is clean, there is always a worker cleaning the tables, floors, etc. At certain times it's very busy here, however that is to be expected. During those times you may wait slightly longer for your order to be prepared, however it's worth it. They even have burgers that are...
