Heading to the Museum of Natural History today, and I wanted to maximize my UWS time. H&H is one of my favorite bagels, but not sure I ever came to the actual location. Super happy I did. Bright and well-lit, this place was basically dead at 8am on a rainy Sunday morning. It started getting busier as I sat and noshed on my delicious Lox, cream cheese, capers, and tomato on a toasted Everything bagel. The ‘Nova Salmon with no onion.’ The staff was friendly, and the guy who made my sandwich joked that it had extra onion which I met with a frown and then a smile when I realized he was yanking my chain. I will mention I don’t remember paying this much for a Lox bagel and cream cheese before, but everything on this trip to NYC has been more expensive from $5 pizza for a single topping to a $16 (Corner) Bistro burger. So I figure it’s par for the course. Stop by and enjoy this delicious spot. And then walk to Central Park or stop by a Museum. Or just live your amazing life on the UWS.

The perfect breakfast spot. During my trip to NYC, I found myself coming back here almost every morning. Their bagels are consistently fresh, chewy, and full of that classic New York flavor. Order the everything bagel, toasted, with bacon and egg, and grab a hot coffee to go with it. That’s your morning sorted; simple, satisfying, and exactly what you need before a day of exploring the city. Quick notes for fellow travelers: Service: Quick, friendly, and efficient, they know how to keep things moving without rushing you. Food: Always fresh, always consistent. You can taste the care in the prep. Atmosphere: Clean, straightforward, and focused on what matters: great bagels and good energy. If you want a genuine NYC breakfast experience without the fuss, H&H Bagels is the move.

Got recommended this place by a friend who lived in NY 3 years ago and the bagel was probably akin to the reviews. Probably was good 3 years ago but is bare average now. Got the classic Nova Scotia salmon bagel. Construction was good, everything was pretty fresh and good ratios. But the bagel itself tasted a day old even though I was there early in the day. Everything Bagel was by itself a 3/10. Customer service was also pretty poor. Really questioned giving a tip at all. PS. Don’t waste your time with the iced coffee.

DO NOT eat anything prepared here. While waiting in line, I witnessed some truly shocking violations of basic food safety:

-One of the food preparers accidentally knocked a can of cooking spray into the trash. After staring at it for a moment, he picked it back up and placed it on the counter. That can is now contaminated — and anyone who touches it, then touches food, is spreading bacteria.

-Moments later, I witnessed another employee crack an egg into a bowl while wearing gloves. He fished out a piece of eggshell with his fingers, then went right back to preparing food — touching cooked bacon, bagels, sandwich wrappers, and more — all with the same gloves. That means raw egg bacteria was transferred to everything he handled afterward. I genuinely feel awful for anyone whose order was being prepared at that moment.

I flagged all of this to the manager, who barely seemed to grasp the issue. A competent manager would’ve halted all food prep, tossed anything in progress, instructed everyone to change gloves, and sanitized the area immediately. None of that happened.

Speaking of gloves: this place desperately needs a crash course in hygiene. Gloves are not magic barriers — if you wear the same pair through multiple tasks, you’re just spreading germs around with false confidence. I’d honestly prefer bare hands that are frequently washed.

I’m stunned that a well-known business like H&H would operate with such low standards. This isn’t just gross — it’s dangerous. I won’t be coming back, and I strongly recommend you don’t eat...

I’m a Uber eats driver and every time I go there to pick up the food. 1# I do agree with the comments on here because the staff is rude and no education. Every time I go there, they look like they just don’t like me for what reason I don’t know and I don’t care. I just like to please my customers when I’m delivering food on time. When they become rude to me I’ll cancel the customer order for delivery because I’m not going Tolerate with that. I like to do the one on the upper Eastside much better and friendly staff. So if anybody that’s ordering Uber eats from that location and your food don’t come on time and taking long, It’s because they said they still got to wait for a response for an Uber eats driver just remember. We cancel your order because we don’t feel comfortable there. So when a Uber eats driver cancel and we see where the location, Now they have to continue on finding someone to pick up the order from Uber eats. Remember don’t order from that location order from the upper Eastside. You’ll be satisfied and you’ll get your...

Two cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese will run you just a hair under $10. A request for extra cream cheese will definitely be added to your bill, but don't expect it to be on your bagel. Every time I've been there, I order the same two cinnamon raisin bagels. One toasted and one not toasted for my girlfriend. The staff struggle putting in that order, every single time. Maybe I'm missing the complexity here but throwing one on a toaster, and not the other seems like a simple task. The staff appear to be burdened by customers presence and for having to take an order. It's a shame, because for the most part the bagels are good, despite being over priced. The service on the other hand is horrible. I go there only for how close it is, but should just go to the 100's of other friendlier and better bagel places in the UWS. Maybe it's a management issue, but at the least the staff need to work on their customer service skills because they just come across as rude and unpleasant people. Save yourself the time and just go to a...
