Warning: Fraudulent Toll Charges Incurred
My partner and I recently rented a vehicle at this location. When booking the reservation, my partner’s card was put on file as required for request submission. Upon arriving at this location on our reservation date, we were told that the name on the card on file needed to match the name of the ID of the intended driver. As I would be driving, and my partner the passenger, my card was then entered into the system to replace his.
Before the reservation began, we were told that our car had a transponder that would ping our acquired tolls. My card would then be charged a few weeks after the return of the vehicle, which was agreed to by all.
Our initial experience was lovely. We had no issues over the course of our rental, and were able to return the vehicle with no issues. Staff on location were kind and helpful.
It wasn’t until a month after our reservation that I received a receipt for our acquired toll charges. Despite our limited use of the vehicle, our toll amount was recorded as over $450, an amount much steeper than our anticipated $20. Ultimately, all but 3 of our tolls acquired (over 15) were invalid, and our transponder was inaccurately pinged throughout the duration of our rental, despite the vehicle being parked in a hotel parking lot for all but 4 hours of the reservation (in a different state than where the tolls were being acquired).
Not only was the amount charged outrageously inaccurate, but multiple cards of ours were attempted to be charged for this amount. When my card was not accepted, as I didn’t have the unanticipated $450 available in my account, whoever was responsible for initiating payment collection then proceeded to charge my partners card instead, despite us being told originally that this was a fraudulent tactic and against company policy. My partners account was subsequently overdrafted as a result of this, despite our lack of permission for use of this card.
I reported this mistake immediately upon receiving the receipt. Enterprise investigated my case, finding $433.85 in invalid charges. Over 20 days after my initial report, we still anxiously await our reimbursement that we were told should arrive in 5 business days. I’ve attached a photo of my response from Enterprise, which lacks both an explanation and an apology for this massive error.
Living paycheck to paycheck, this has been an extremely distressing and unfair situation. I still have no idea what would have caused the inaccurate charges, whether or not it was a technological error or human malice, but I sincerely hope Enterprise continues to investigate to protect their customers from such a...
Read moreI came to this location specifically to pick up my car share card. My experience wasn’t so pleasant the gentleman that work in the office tall, built, black descent told me that I have to pay $12 for the card because when I signed up online I chose to have my card sent in the mail which definitely wasn’t true. I explain to him that must be a mistake and if I can speak with a manger. He called a guy from the “headquarters” office which I believe is on 23rd st and the manager said the same thing I have to pay. Mean while it haven’t been 48 hour since my application been processed I left without my card. 3 days later I return and got assisted by another gentleman in the office I think his name was Orlando. He was very kind and helpful, took my information, called the same headquarters that the other guy called and told me I DON’T HAVE TO PAY SINCE MY CARD WAS NEVER SENT OUT! If it wasn’t for him this place would get 0 stars from me. I traveled all the way from the Bronx just to prove something I already knew. I would avoid this place if possible when dealing with Enterprise CarShare go to the Headquarters office so that your time...
Read moreThe prices at Enterprise are the right ones. That's what drew me to this branch in the first place. I made my quick and easy reservation through their website a month in advance for a short Sunday to Monday trip up to Massachusetts. The week prior to my reservation, I decided to to add Saturday to my intinerary. I called the branch and it was not a problem at all to change the reservation, plus at the same daily rate. When I picked up the car, there was a bit of a wait because so many people were picking up at that time, but once I talked to someone at the counter, it was a short wait to get my car. Enterprise gave me a free upgrade to a Camaro! It was a fun ride, however, I may ask for something else next time I am driving in the snow in winter time! Drop off on Monday was quick and sweet - they had the receipt already printed. Will definitely rent cars from this Enterprise...
