Hangry Joe's Hit Chicken has officially hit it out of the park for me! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of perfectly spiced chicken filled the air, and I knew I was in for a treat. As someone who seeks out halal options, I was thrilled to find a place that not only caters to this but absolutely excels at it.

I opted for the Medium hot tenders, and let me tell you, the heat was fantastic – a genuine, flavorful kick that didn't just burn but actually tasted delicious. The chicken itself was incredibly tender and juicy, with a crispy coating that held up perfectly even with their signature sauce. Speaking of the sauce, it was the perfect complement, adding a creamy richness that balanced the spice beautifully.

The sides were equally impressive. The fries were perfectly salted and had that satisfying fluffy interior, while the coleslaw provided a refreshing counterpoint to the heat of the chicken. Beyond the incredible food, the service was top-notch. The staff were friendly, efficient, and clearly passionate about their food. The restaurant itself was clean and had a vibrant, energetic atmosphere.

It's no secret that South Brooklyn is a bit of a desert for good fried chicken. Basically, all that exists are bodegas that toss frozen junk into a deep fryer. This restaurant is not the best fried chicken place in the city, but it almost certainly is the best in the area.

I got the combo #1- chicken Sando, fries, and drink.

The sandwich itself was the star of the show, as it should be. It was well put together. The pickles and slaw complemented the spicy chicken well. The chicken itself was big and juicy and flavorful. The bun was average, on the dry side. The sauce is also a typical "secret sauce", but it really works with the sandwich.

The fries are ok. I grade it on a curve because most places have bland, boring, frozen fries, and this place has seasoned waffle fries which are fried until crispy. However, they were pretty greasy, the portion was small, and they're not worth the price. I won't be getting them again, but they're still a step up from the usual offerings around.

For sugar free beverages, the only options were diet Pepsi or water.

We placed an order on their website. We were expecting delivery. We ALWAYS order delivery. We did not receive any update on our order after waiting 45 minutes. I called the store. Spoke with a young man who said his name was "Vincent". He admitted it was their fault that the food was not delivered. I asked for a manager. I was told he couldn't give his name as he was laughing. I asked again for the manager and he said the manager wasn't there. Then he said the manager's name is Richard after saying he didn't know the Manager's name. We have been consistent customers of this location. We are very disappointed at the lack of customer service we received today. "Vincent" laughed at our displeasure as if it was a joke.
