The food was nasty. I don't know what happened in the past few years but it went down hill. I should have known better when there was no smell inside the resturant. Ordered beef lo mein, pork fried rice, chicken wings and broccoli with garlic sauce. All the dishes had no flavor whatsoever. The chicken wings were huge gigantic pieces that you can just taste the hormones. It did not look appetizing and the Batter used made the chicken look like pieces of burnt pancake mix. It did not have that typical fried chicken look. The fried rice was awful and tasted like it was cooked in old oil and old soy sauce. The beef was tasteless with no seasoning and the pieces were big. The noodles were skinny and tasted old. Fried rice was just so blah. Yuck. Broccoli was awful, flavor. It was so bad we didn't even take the leftovers and it was a lot of food. I hate wasting food but I would not eat any of that. I should have waited for the spot or gone back to Supreme resturant. If you decide to venture to this place, it is family style so a few dishes are enough for a family of 3 to...
Read moreFavorite original family homestyle restaurant in C-town. The staff makes you feel like you are welcomed. Tea pot is top off quickly, food comes out hot, tasty and quick. Always end up ordering more than we can finish. Steamed ground pork with salt cured bits of fish was comfort food when spooned over bowl of rice. Fried Flounder fillets stirred fried with Chinese okra, onions, carrots, mushroom & snow peas with ginger/scallion dish was finished with no leftover to go. Stir fried Chinese spinach seasoned with fermented soy bean cake was perfect with just enough pan sauce. The clay pot rice casserole with Chinese sausage, cured pork belly, yu choy and sauce was the bomb. The waiter fluffed the rice into bowls making sure to scrape up the crispy, browned bottomed rice bits and chips with a drizzle of briny sauce. The extra sauce was left on the side for extra flavor and the sausage, pork belly and choy was neatly sliced and layered on a separate plate. Good way to close the year before welcoming in Year of the Rat. Happy New...
Read moreI’ve come here on more than one occasion just to eat their Beef Brisket Hot Pot (a Stone Pot Casserole with unctuous pieces of beef tendon and white daikon) steeped into its savory melange. The Roast Duck, is highly exceptionally delicious too. Very greasy. Totally fattening. And the crisp skin just too much to handle in one sitting. Of course on the other hand it can be very delightful as a soloist enjoying entree after entree, but not everyone can leave without thinking about how delicious it really was … to begin with? Plus, there is really no other place in the world that serves up this particular dish except maybe in Hong Kong. Maybe Yokohama too. But even rarer instances anywhere found in places like Chinatown in San Francisco! It’s been awhile, but Love this part of Chinatown because of the shops situated along this narrower winding street and it’s historically fantastic restaurants. Superb places to eat and lots of quaint touristy shops, manned year round by people who are always really...
