What a way to start your Friday ! Altho the commute was long but I am so used to it! After coming here trying the food , seating here in quit, enjoying the ambiance, chatting with the Chefs & stuffs it was all so worth it. If you live in this area or anywhere else please do come by to try their yummy food . This place is not too far from the L train .
Loved the decor, remind me of home. I even checked out the restroom & loved the decor there too. Very specious too! Loved the open cooking area, met a Bangladeshi chef there who was super nice too. It's always a pleasure to find someone randomly who is from your own country!
Everyone was super nice & helpful . The meat wasn't halal so I tried the egg & cheese dosa, Chai & complimentary mango parfait ! While enjoying my food I had the chance to chat with the Chef who came by to say hi. He was excited to know that I am from his Neighboring country. Then I got to chat with the stuff also who were so nice, friendly. I forgot my server's name(sorry), he came multiple times to check up on me.
Good thing the place was still pretty much empty so I didn't bother them too much lol! I actually forgot the beautiful girl's name (sorry) who also gave me second cup of chai ! She probably figured out that us desis love our chai ! She definitely didn't have to do that but I so appreciated the kindness!
Let me tell you all this time I had never tried dosa before. I am glad my first time trying something knew was Soo yum! As a Bangladeshi I do like my tea strong but I still liked their chai. The complimentary dessert was good too. I was so full after finishing everything, so I just sat there & made some tiktok lol.
Thank you again for the invite & let me be a part of your event ! We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook a chance and decided to visit this gem on an off night. The drink menu while minimal, was interesting array of fruity and fresh ingredients that tickled the taste buds and was a perfect end to a long work day.
Asking the bartenders recommendation, I started with the āHibiscus Mezcal Margaritaā which was a tad too floral for my tastes. The hibiscus was a tad overpowering, but combined with the mezcal and salted spiced rim, was just the right combination of flavors.
The second cocktail, being the āPineapple Rum Punchā was PERFECT. Asking for it to be made a bit more spicy than normal, the blend of spices and fresh fruit juices made me a bit sad that I quickly drank this cocktail and left me wanting more.
I opted to try their promotional drink, the āLavender Gin Fizzā, which was PHENOMENAL. The balance of the coconut and lavender, was just right, that even with the gin; was INCREDIBLY smooth. If you prefer your drinks on the stronger side, Iād recommend asking for 2oz of Gin.
Take an afternoon and come back during the evening, and say hello to the super outgoing staff, which BONUS POINTS to the predominantly queer identified staff.
NOTE: Entering this space was a bit intimidating, as is the case with lavish and ethnic spaces. However, after speaking with management, the establishments commitment to keeping and promoting queer culture and inclusivity instantly put my doubts at ease.
This critic dubs their cocktail bar a solid 4/5 stars, and will be back within the next few weeks to sample the rest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow , great Happy Hour here . Get some Masala Fries, those were really tasty and definitely use the dipping sauce that comes with it . My friend and I came here for dinner and drinks on Tuesday. It's an open and airy corner spot in Williamsburg. We started with a Spicy Margarita (that was spicy! ) and a Khubani Peg which was a serious and strong whiskey based drink . My friend also got a Stella Artois beer and my 2nd cocktail was the delicious pear and cardamom drink - Capital Nashpati. Get that one . Drinks are $10 each at HH . Great deal . For food we started with the Chili Cauliflower which has an absolutely delicious sauce ( but wasn't soft , so I needed a knife to cut it .) Next time I'd try the Samosas. For mains we got the Blackened Salmon Tandoori Platter which comes with saffron rice , salad and a delicious Daal that I would have liked more of . My friend got a Golden Chicken Curry and really liked that . Naan is good . Try the Zaatar Naan which has an herbal flavor on top . Staff are nice and it wasn't too crowded. Good drinks and food and prices . Recommended. If I have any criticism I would say that the Salmon and the chicken were just a little dry but still pretty good . I would definitely go back and try their Saag Paneer next time . Also being from the East Village it was really nice to get out of our own neighborhood for a couple hours - it's a nice place to chill at...
