I don’t know how this place was highly rated, and I can only speak for myself. I was in the area early in the week. After a long day at work, and commuting back and forth to work from another boro, I was hungry. And tired and frustrated. I entered this diner. It was freezing outside and I wanted to sit in and eat. The people were friendly. I expected more welcoming, warm greeting and comfortable seating. I didn’t expect to stay seated by the front entrance. The two young girls at the front need to learn to be more professional. Appearance means a lot. To be a customer looking at them, they were socializing with each other and on their phones and whispering among themselves. When one of them decided to approach my table, they stood a distance as if I was contagious or something. Customer service skills need to be addressed. I wasn’t asked how I was. I wasn’t asked if I needed anything else. I wasn’t asked if I needed more water to drink. I’m not coming back to...
Read moreI went to Jey’s diner with my daughter and her husband. The place is very small, but very clean, a very low and pleasant background music and a very courteous lady waiting on tables. After our order was taken and while we waited for our food I noticed a guy come in apparently from making a delivery. He went behind the counter and started working without washing his hands, the same guy went out again and returned a second time with another female both went in the back and started working without washing their hands. A third person came in from the streets, another male, he also was in the back and started working without washing his hands. While all this activity and lack of hygiene happened our food came out, very well presented, very fresh and delicious. The eggs Benedict cooked to perfection, the potatoes very tasty with a nice combination of crunchy and tender. I would recommend the food but they need to wash...
Read moreHorrendous. I ordered from here for the first time yesterday and they never showed up. The delivery person refused to come upstairs and asked me to come down (the first time this has ever happened at my apartment after 2 years living here) in incredibly broken English. There were a lot of "uh, uh, uh's" as I tried to communicate with him. The worst part is HE called ME to have a conversation in English he couldn't understand rather than ringing my bell and walking 1 flight of stairs. Then when I got downstairs he was gone. I called him back and he again went "uh, uh, uh." Never did get my order. Tip for the owners: If your delivery drivers don't speak English, have them ring the doorbell and come to the door. No one understands "uh uh uh" when your delivery driver calls them and no one wants to go downstairs in their pajamas only for the person who made them go down not...
