I really wanted to like Molkajete Restaurant and Bar, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing from start to finish. I ordered via Uber Eats and reached out to the restaurant privately to share my concerns before posting publicly, but I never received a response or any acknowledgment.
My lomo saltado was extremely disappointing — it arrived without the fries or potatoes, was overly sweet, and was cooked well-done even though I specifically requested medium. It was honestly inedible and I ended up throwing it away.
The ceviche was just okay, but it was poorly packed — the plantains were placed in the same container, leaving them soggy. The few that weren’t soggy tasted stale.
The only positive part of my order was the sangria, which was very good.
Overall, I was truly disappointed by both the food quality and the lack of response from the restaurant. I won’t be ordering...
Read moreThe restaurant is small and cozy, offering an intimate dining space. However, the service left much to be desired — the server appeared disengaged and unwelcoming. The atmosphere was also underwhelming, with background music that felt out of place and almost too dull, making it difficult to enjoy the setting. On a positive note, the food was delicious. We ordered the Jalea for two, Ceviche and the Leche de Tigre, which were flavorful and well-prepared. That said, I found the prices to be on the higher side. In particular, one alcoholic drink was $17–18, which feels excessive for Brooklyn, especially when many restaurants in the area serve comparable drinks for under $15.
Overall, it was a new experience for us, and while the food impressed, the lackluster service, uninspiring ambiance, and high prices make it unlikely that I...
Read moreOutstanding Experience at Molkajete! My wife and I had an incredible dining adventure. We savored the flavors of the Ceviche Limeno and Leche de Tigre Ceviche and , both bursting with freshness and zesty goodness. The Molkajete stole the show with its perfectly grilled NY steak, shrimp, and a medley of flavors that left us craving for more. The Tres Leches dessert was a heavenly treat that rounded off the meal flawlessly.
We must give a special shout-out to Chef Hugo Garcia for his remarkable culinary skills. Each dish was crafted with precision and passion.
The cocktail selection was exceptional, perfectly complementing our dishes.
